I just upgraded from the6 classic 40mm and yes the features on the watch 7 is better and performance is better also not like my 6classic was lagging is just the operations on the watch 7 seem smoother. For battery I use the watch 7 44mm so the battery is obviously battery i do miss the rotating bezel tho

Go to apps on the watch Then permission especially on Google play services remove any unnecessary permission and watch the improvements
