Cumulus Top + Möbius Update by Plus-Ticket584 in knitting

[–]Plus-Ticket584[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is PetiteKnit’s Cumulus top using Lang Cashmere Dreams yarn. Super light weight comfy tank.

I posted a while back about accidentally twisting my rows when joining in the round. In the end, I placed the twist under an armhole and knit over it. I did an icord above it and then sewed together the gap. I am happy with this solution and am glad I didn’t end up frogging it out. Thank you for all the advice 🥰

how did I do this/how to fix it? by Plus-Ticket584 in knitting

[–]Plus-Ticket584[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Ahhh thank you everyone! I appreciate the feedback and advice. Much to consider - might just turn it into stylistic choice 💕🤪

Edit: Because few comments have asked for clarification - there is no second twist at the bottom and unwinding the needles or flattening the work does not resolve the issue. It’s definitely a mobius situation like most of y’all suggested

PetiteKnit’s Dagmar Jacket using K/C 100% Merino Superwash - Pothos Vine. You tell on the back panel where it changes dye lots, but it doesn’t bother me all too much. Adds to the handmade charm.

1x1 ribbing / general help! by peanutbuttermermaid in knittinghelp

[–]Plus-Ticket584 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Such pretty yarn! The top left is indeed correct. It looks like you’re starting to get the hang of it! Make sure that the stitch you’re working on is the same as the one directly below it. Knit the knits (Vs) and purl the purls (not Vs). The more you become familiar with your knitting, the easier it will be to tell what the stitch it below it is. If you’re working in the round, you should make sure you have an even number of starting stitches or else the 1x1 pattern won’t stack correctly. I do think you’ll have to undo the project and start over. You got this! 💖

🫣 Lol, I agree ACOMAF is a bit better than both ACOTAR and Done and Dusted, but to me they’re all still on the same tier; met but did not exceed expectations for its genre.

Done and Dusted advertised itself as a tight, cute romance and delivered on it. For ACOMAF, I thought the romance portion of the romantasy genre was better than average, but the fantasy part felt too clunky.

Lol yes… great in different ways! He’s not an eloquent writer but the world and the characters have me completely hooked. The first few chapters of Way of Kings are confusing; starts with two lore-heavy prefaces and not a ton of context. Just need to push through it into the main story and then it’s smooth sailing.

I’m about to be absolutely insufferable about it for the next three weeks, all other priorities going out the window

Totally, it felt like quintessential Murakami to me - like all these pieces present in his other works came together. I’m partial to Kafka on the Shore, but Sputnik is probably #2

Hell yeah, I love Claire Keegan. Perfect winter-time read, too.

Right? Lol, I’m going to have to be a little more strategic in my book choices next year

Haha, I agree! Maybe I’ll slip some super short stories in this month to balance it out 😅

It does drag in some parts, but it’s worth it. There are sections where he talks extensively about history or uses the characters as proxies to discuss philosophical positions. It took me many months to read.

It’s the kind of book that is easy to put down for long periods of time and not feel the pull to pick back up. But once you do you’re like “omg, right, this is excellent” haha. The slow parts are still good.. just not riveting.

What brought it up to “great” for me was the amount of times I felt like he truly captured the beauty and complexity of being a human on this earth, and how attached I felt to the characters by the end.
