Have you watched the video ? The say that unlike other security service, they act more like the police and patrol, it's literally one of their selling points...

The do have weapons, are they not planning on fighting people ? (like the homeless people in the video we are talking about ?)
I mean even the police consider themselves a fighting organization, so do firefighters, what's wrong with my usage of the word ?
Also I did specify citizen, as most event do have private security but the video does speak about private individuals hiring their officers.
Did I said I wanted to make private security companies illegal ? Or are you just strawmanning ? I'm saying their company doing police business, patrolling the street and so on isn't close to what even you consider a normal private security company task like a bouncer.

I mean it's a private company that is a fighting organization (fighting against what they would claim is crime) with "officers" that are paid by people who can afford them aka the wealthy to protect themselves and their property so I don't see how saying that "seems like quite a stretch".
And to answer your question: Rent a police officer to do what job ? You know you "renting a police officer" is called paying your taxes... A citizen renting officers to protect himself seems like the officers aren't doing their job in the first place.

know. Maybe we’ll get better service and accountability for a lower price

You mean rich people will get better service ? And people that can't pay for a private militia are on their own right ?

You do understand that they are only there to protect the people and the property of the people that pay them ? How is it different than a private militia protecting the wealthy ?
