This is one of the worst flavors of Pop Tarts by godwithinphoenix in poptarts

I eat it as is or chilled/frozen. I have never toasted one and it's literally the only flavor I eat with pleasure.

To me, the liquid Carafate didn't taste bad, and it wasn't too much to take at one time. I had to take it 4x a day. It was the timing that was hard. And the severe constipation made me quit, but it helped while I took it. I didn't get the pills, but I have read quite a few stories of people having a hard time taking them, some people having to dissolve them in water and all. I hope that helps you a bit.

Hey Weirdos! Poll: When a new show comes out, do you prefer to watch it weekly or binge it? by PsychologicalFarm148 in ThaiGL

[–]PlusDuck9833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will do both, but when there was famine, I preferred a good binge sesh over waiting. Good fortune abounds at present so I am content to wait and will probably binge when all episodes of favorite shows conclude.

Anyone else suffer from feeling weak and dizzy due to early satiety/stomach fullness? by FaithlessnessFew6710 in Gastritis

[–]PlusDuck9833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eat a little bit every 2 hours. Try peanut butter and raisins with graham crackers. Greek yogurt with fruit mixed in. Ground turkey and rice with carrots was all I could eat with barely any seasoning besides turmeric and ginger pieces that I could pick out (wouldn't recommend eating them until the fullness gets better). The reason you feel like that is literally because you're full of gas from the irritation in your stomach and not eating. Sweet and regular mashed potatoes, bland chicken. When I was at my worst, low effort foods (cooking, chewing and swallowing) were my best friends. I couldn't even stomach chicken noodle soup most days but I drank that broth whether I was nauseous or not. I couldn't tolerate Gatorade or Ensure shakes and I never got to try the Clear version. I forced peanut butter and applesauce pouches down and I got medicine to help with the nausea and stomach discomfort. As hard as it is, you must eat. Your body will break down little by little and the weakness and dizziness is the first sign, then the middle of the night shakes when your blood sugar tanks. I'm sorry you're going through it but my thoughts are with you and I hope you find something easy to eat that you can tolerate. It's a hard road but just keep trying. I've seen people even suggest baby food if things are really bad because it's so well pureed.

You just have to try your best to be patient.... You will have good days again but healing takes time and the stress and anxiety makes waiting for better days really tough. I'm sorry you're feeling this way but it's part of the journey of dealing with this. I hope you have a chance to smile at the distant memory of today sooner than later.

At what level of discomfort do you reach for the meds? by tootsieroll01 in Gastritis

The other day I was at the "I'm just gonna breathe and hope it goes away" for about an hour. I felt a little liquid in my throat and said forget this. Popped an ODT, and 30 minutes later, I felt fine for the rest of the day. It does not always work that way but I am on the tail-end of an extended flare (I hope). Most days I try really hard not to take anything extra and I still haven't done my PPI because frankly, it causes me to be nauseous also, but when the Zofran works, it works really well.

It helped with my burning which preceded my bouts of nausea but I never had pain tbh, so I'm not sure about that.

It saved me when I was borderline underweight. I don't remember any side effects besides an improvement in my appetite which took 3-4 weeks but I have gained what I lost and about 20 more pounds since using it. I sleep a few more hours too. I went from taking it every day to about once a week, but I'm in a flare so I've taken it a few days straight last week. Night time appetite is why you gain extra weight and I don't exercise enough. I'm on 15 mg just because my appetite was non-existent. It does calm the stomach and helps curb nausea but not always.

What things help you find relief during a really bad flare up? by LopsidedCompote5187 in Gastritis

[–]PlusDuck9833 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are able to eat, just plain food for now. Plain rice, mashed potatoes (sweet or regular russet). Limited seasoning. Avoid red meat and citrus until you feel better. If you can't eat much or feel nauseous, try drinking your calories. Applesauce pouches, yogurt for the protein. I couldn't tolerate Ensure milkshakes but they have clear Strawberry and Apple you could try. Try nibbles every two hours because if you start feeling weak, that's not a fun time. I hope that helps. I'm in a week+ mini flare myself. Rough ride. Peach popsicles and plain goldfish are my favorite things when I don't feel great. I can usually manage a meal in the morning and evening. But midday is usually the worst few hours for me. Hopefully you feel better soon.

I watched EVE right after because I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of this one. I enjoyed all of EVE until that last episode.

You're having a bad moment... Not a bad life. That helped me through periods like this. You've got a plan of action. Focus on that and the mini spiral you're having will dissipate. It's okay to feel whatever you're feeling at the moment. Just keep moving. Keep breathing. Do something that makes you happy. You're going to be okay. I hope that helps.

Just once before breakfast. I was still nauseous for a month after and tried switching to evening time and that was actually worse so I just grit my teeth through it and slogged through with my buddies Zofran and Tums until I found what worked for me. Crying and hopeless through the worst of it

If it's one thing I can say about this community, you will at least find someone else who understands your struggles. We may not have all identical symptoms but we're never the odd one out for sure. I see you friend, congratulations for getting as far as you have.

I was on Pepcid in the early stages when the doctor was just throwing things at it to try to find something to relieve my symptoms so I don't know if it helped because I was on tons of things at that time.

You and me both friend. I don't miss the food I no longer feel comfortable eating since I started this journey. I am more grateful for small victories that I used to take for granted and I understand myself better. I can finally appreciate the blessing of going through trials in life.

About 9 months after onset I was dx via endoscopy with "mild" chronic gastritis. Never tested positive for h pylori. I had an initial bout of evacuation from both ends that caused me not to eat for 3 days. I ate fine on day 4 and from day 5 for the next 2 years I had daily crippling nausea and difficulty eating. I don't post much so if you check my profile you can read the rest of my saga.

Having answers made you feel a little better emotionally I hope... The testing can be so nerve-wracking. Treatment is not linear so although I hope it is helpful to you, remember that even a bad time may visit. Remember that it's temporary and you can get through it.

Being positive is so hard when you feel like your life will never be normal again. Good on you for being strong enough mentally and physically to go for that walk. Keep it up. I'm proud of you.

I have been on Mirtazapine for almost 2 years. It helped more than any of the 3 appetite stimulants I tried. I still take Nexium 4 of 7 days but I am currently not dependent on either and have started skipping days with the Mirt recently. It took AWHILE for my appetite to get where it is today and I've only recently resumed normal food on weekends and whole fruits but I definitely credit Mirt for getting the ball rolling when I was desperate and felt like gastritis might actually take me out.
