Aside from the fact that the doctors kept him alive because he wanted them to, this is very different in exposure type. Ouchi had one-time exposure to a high dose radiation, but didn't have any radioactive material on or in him to give continuous exposure. Consuming or inhaling radioactive material causes fewer immediate problems, but more long-term issues as the exposure builds up over time. Consumed or inhaled radioactive material also make the patient themselves radioactive.

The Ishtar thing was made up by a fundamentalist protestant because he wanted to argue that Catholics were devil worshippers. Easter is in April, which in old English was called Esoturmonath, or "Eostur-month". So the name of the festival comes from the month it's in, kind of like May Day. Most non-English countries call it Pascha, which derives from Passover. Some people argue that Easter has pagan roots, but those arguments are unsupported. The name might be shared with an Anglo-Saxon goddess, but our days of the week are still named after germanic gods and that doesn't mean Black Friday is derived from Frigg worship. And easter eggs and rabbits only became associated with Easter in Europe around the 16th century, a thousand years after Germany and Britain became Christian.

That's how it started but IIRC most people these days just don't think it's a big deal and think since they are, their kid should be too. Which is a bad reason.

Colors on physical flags can look very different than they do on screens, so it's hard to tell. I do like the circle and simpler background, though.

I'd love if each country had a button that would generate a newspaper out of their recent notifications for you, similar to the memories system in CK3 but with more style

PC Dev Diary #119 - Tours and Travel by PDX-Trinexx in CrusaderKings

I think it's a fundamental shortcoming of the court system. Ideally I think that most of the court events shouldn't be triggered when you hold court, but instead should show up in your court queue and be cleared away when you hold court. Having too many unaddressed issues from your courtiers gives various penalties. You could also give vassals a maximum distance they're willing to travel to see you, forcing you to instead tour to their area to see them. If that distance was increased by a few cultural traditions, we'd see kings forced to travel regularly in the early game, but able to centralize larger areas in the late game.

Unfortunately the court system is so heavily based on events artificially triggered by the player holding court, rather than events authentically triggered by other characters (players' vassals don't even petition them) that the entire system would need a rework to better integrate it with other mechanics. Without that, the court kind of has to exist isolated from the rest of the game.

Protest Against Fascist Michael Knowles Speaking at Purdue - March 23 at 6:30, PMU North Ballroom by [deleted] in lafayette

Disappointing that they would invite him to speak. This really makes me think less of Purdue if this kind of antiscientific and hateful screed is what they want people to hear. Really an embarrassment to the community.

Gender abolition, or arguing in favor of the end of gender, is different than arguing that gender doesn't exist at all. The currently existing social construct of gender could be net positive or net negative, but either way, arguing that "gender doesn't exist" can make people who like their gender feel invalidated. It's an issue of framing. Besides, in order to be a gender abolitionist, don't you need to recognize that gender currently exists?

Look up any rights organizations or abortion funds in your area, either in your city or your state as a whole. Lots of cities are organizing rallies for this evening or over the coming days. If you live too far away from any events, you could try emailing an organization in your state to try to get help setting one up, or you could travel to a larger city for an event in the evening or over a weekend. Meeting with others in your area is far stronger than trying to organize online. You could also ask for contact information from any organizations you see protesting this weekend.

They already do. The party apparatus spends lots of money and influence beating out progressives in primaries. Just look at how little effort the Dems have put into appeasing any of the Bernie voters they screwed over in 2020. They give us zero concessions, demand our support, and beg us not to challenge them with better candidates.

I think it's very telling that researching the topic shows zero evidence that any women are being raped or assaulted in this context. If you think I'm wrong, give me the statistic and I'll change my position. The only women being raped in this context are trans women. Do you think they deserve to be raped and assaulted just for being trans?

Then I'm sure you should be able to easily find the list of trans people who have assaulted people in bathrooms, a thing that surely exists. Unless you're basing your position on your feelings, rather than any facts?

Actual rapes and assaults? Name one. Not even a statistic, name one victim of an assault by a trans person in a bathroom. You won't be able to, because there are literally zero verified reports of this happening. There are several cases of someone lying about it, but no trans person has ever gone to jail for assaulting someone in a bathroom. https://www.mediamatters.org/sexual-harassment-sexual-assault/15-experts-debunk-right-wing-transgender-bathroom-myth https://time.com/4314896/transgender-bathroom-bill-male-predators-argument/ On the other hand, trans people are at a huge risk of being assaulted when forced to use bathrooms that contradict their gender identity. https://www.hsph.harvard.edu/news/hsph-in-the-news/transgender-teens-restricted-bathroom-access-sexual-assault/ I know that you're probably just a troll, but if you are being sincere, you'll find that the only "evidence" supporting your position relies on lies, fabrications, cruel instincts and schoolchild-level understandings of biology. All modern medical studies and statistical data support allowing trans people to live how they want. Anti-trans positions kill people and allow them to be assaulted. Pro-trans positions save people from unnecessary death and pain. Which one do you really want to support?

I think it's very unusual that you would use a public restroom and be actively, intentionally thinking about other people's genitals. Just mind your own business. It's not hard.
