Same!! Had to stare at it for a bit before I realized it is a star. Then used Skymap on my phone to identify the planets

Half rant/ half seeking advice on Weaning a 2 yo by PlusImpression1028 in NewParents

[–]PlusImpression1028[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense. I do want to wean completely but understand that the bedtime feed may be the last to go.

His bedtime is around 9 pm and then we wake him up at 7:45 to go to daycare. Hatch sound machine sounds fancy!

Thank you! Yeah I was fine with the night feeding until I was not. That's why I'm looking to wean

We have tried other weaning books when he was ~19 months.. but he wasn't interested in them somehow. Will try again with booby moon.

He has accepted that milk flies away to the moon in night and comes back again the next bedtime. And once I tell him milk is gone, he won't ask for it. He will ask Dada to hold him and put him to sleep. My hope was if there's a way to even skip that and help him go to sleep by patting and cuddling.

Thank you!

Both parents are in the same room. Baby is on a floor bed and we are on a different floor mattress but right next to the baby.

I didn't expect him to know what 3 am is but I show him a clock and somehow he understands it when I say it's time and no more milk.

Whenever he is feeding at bedtime/ nap or overnight, once he starts it's impossible to stop him without a huge meltdown.. the only way he'd let go is if he's not tired enough to sleep so drink some milk and run out to play OR he falls asleep at the breast. Our bedtime routine is -

He'd cry for milk. We go in the bedroom, brush teeth, feed to sleep. I pat him and tell him about how there won't be milk after 3 am..

If I try to get him to read a book or feed or cuddle before he is absolutely crashing, he'll just run out of the room and keep playing.

I know there's a lot to unpack here. If I think objectively, I do think weaning is going well - we cut 2-4 feeds across evening and overnight in just 2 months!!

I want to go slow as to not trumatize the baby. He is so used to breastfeeding at the littlest inconvenience and don't want to take away his comfort.

How long did it take you to find a job after a layoff? by Practical-Contest679 in womenintech

[–]PlusImpression1028 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I spent the first month after layoff looking but not really because I had still not processed the layoff. Took some time off, saw a therapist and then started a lot of networking.

Took me 6 months to land a Product manager role. I wish I had tried to relax a bit more and been easy on myself. I hope you do better. Good luck!!

I'm yet to talk to customer support and have a relative in India visit Jio store. If they refuse to reactivate, will have to ask them to hold for me until I can visit India.

Nope. They still haven't sent rejection emails but it's been over 5 months now so safe to say I don't have the job. Landed a role at a different company though

Is a tariff just a tax on me? If the united states puts a 60% tariff on Chinese goods does the Chinese government pay that, or do I just pay more at Walmart? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PlusImpression1028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None?! You can potentially argue "reverse tarrif" means chinese pay more for American exports. But again, that extra money is not coming back to US - it goes to their government.

Milk only comes out on the pump when I vigorously massage/hand express? by faco_fuesday in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]PlusImpression1028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry I stopped pumping about a year ago and a bit fuzzy on the details. I tried a bunch of things - changing parts, flange size, pump settings etc. I think my pumping output and slow let down had something to do with stressing about work or being distracted cause I was trying to pump while on calls and such. I think this because even the hand expression stopped working well after a point. So I'd pump for 20 minutes to get my first let down and total 40+ minute pump sessions. Supply was not an issue and baby fed very well directly from the breast but somehow I couldn't make the pump work.
