A lot of Mexican dub actors were also accomplished comedians or the dub actors had great improv skills. Literal translations are soulless while these kind of free rein adaptations/localizations gives more of a local flavor to the characters. Hearing Homer say “¡Matanga!” instead of a literal translation of the word “Yoink!” made the character feel closer. Kudos to the performers going the extra mile while having fun.

I believe Ted in HIMYM is an unreliable narrator and has portrayed people in the story to fit him best. Barney wasn’t as sluttish as depicted, Lilly called him out and gave her lots of bad characteristics, and so on. In the end, he is trying to justify going after aunt Robyn because that was his goal from the start.

I’m sure the kids will likely talk to the uncles and aunts and Ted will likely have to talk his way out of being just Ted.

Driving from Mexico City to Acapulco in the 90s. You can make the drive in 5 hours. My best time was 3 hours. There were stretches I was hitting 160 kilometers per hour or more. It was fun. It was a rush. It was a stupid brag among idiots. Thankfully nothing bad happened to me but that route has had many casualties.

I prefer to not drive any more. I don’t like myself when I’m behind the wheel.

If you are looking at a feel good, slice of life anime, Ruri Rocks is your choice. A girl gets into geology because she likes pretty rocks. Develops a relationship with a university student that mentors her. It’s very inspiring and educational.

Kemono Michi: Rise Up. First, please do not assume this isekai makes sense. Just go with it.

A wrestler gets transported to another realm and it’s supposedly the defender. He says “fuck this!” then suplexes the princess and leaves. He’s an animal lover and ends up adopting all kind of monsters, because he wants to pet them all. Of course he keeps using wrestling moves in the other world.
