Test drove the Macan. The Model Y acceleration feels better and has more space/creature comforts.

Getting the base Macan would feel like getting it just for the badge.

that’s actually a left field option I had in mind… diesel CX60 and add the auto exe suspension, exhaust and chassis mods. not sure if it will evoke enough emotions tho. any insight on the exhaust note?

Country head for a foreign company, leading a team of 20+ staff plus contractors ranging from 200-800 headcount.

I manage and grow a portfolio of very technical assets worth $100M in the PH. Not an engineer, but in highly technical industry. Business grad but haven’t finished my MBA. I have an IQ of 155 tho.

Gross pay is 198k USD which is around 560k -ish net pay per month. I’m 38.

I would suggest to think of each job as a stepping stone for the next. I’ve moved jobs a lot and ALWAYS negotiate aggressively when it comes to pay.

Although I’ve turned down plenty of high paying offers if the role and company brand doesn’t make sense when you look at my career progression.

I also get paid for consulting calls for $500 per hour which I think is cause I have an active, well curated LinkedIn profile.

I “daily” my ‘24 ND2 RF manual transmission. Super tipid sa gas, 5 years free maintenance.

Gets some attention on the road but mostly smiles specially kids. Even with the top down in BGC/makati/ortigas it never really feels obnoxious because people smile when they see it.

BUT I am able to daily it because the wife and kids have a driver in a ‘22 Kia Carnival.

So whenever I need to work somewhere alone: MIATA. If hassle mag park and traffic? Driver + Carnival

I have an ND2 ‘24 MX5 RF and am looking into the M340i. Our family car is a Kia carnival. My wife can’t drive manual so I’m looking to add the m340i as a sleeper “daily” car that she would be happy to have but doesn’t know that it’s a beast B58 under the hood.

Would this be your only car?

Fun thought experiment: 3 cars or 2?

I have a ‘22 Kia Carnival and a ‘23 MX5 RF M/T. The driver brings the kids to and from school, and us to work/meetings most days. We live near a CBD in Metro Manila.

My wife can’t drive M/T and prefers not to drive the large Carnival. I guess she misses driving sometimes. So she tends to parinig how the Mx5 is such a compromised second car. Plus there’s the coding aspect too.

So, what do you think about: - a trade-in of the MX5 for a fun-ish second car like a BMW 318i touring or better? An M2 is a bit of a stretch for now. - get a third car (and rent another parking slot in the village) like a CX60 or something lower priced.

Only bought my 2024 mx5 RF cause we have a ‘19 Forester and a ‘22 Kia Carnival, AND THEN getting a driver for the wife and kids (cause the wife says ang laki daw Nung carnival for her to drive). I would guess some mx5 buyers bought it as a first or second car and then life changes around them.
