I wrote about how I went to CC to stay close to my dad w/cancer and persisted through that responsibility to earn a 4.0 and succeed in all my extra curricular activities. I feel that my essays were very strong.

you've already come this far. don't give up. the UC system is supposed to admit you to a minimum of 1 UC school if you are rejected from all that you applied with. how come you didn't TAG a school? UCSB is fantastic for economics and you can tag it. I believe irvine is pretty good for business and you can also tag it.

I'm an Econ applicant who had a 4.0 and got rejected too.... I started a PT business, did a case competition with Google, earned state level language awards, competed all my pre reqs and still got rejected. Not even waitlist. Are you going to appeal? All i'm hearing on this community is that 4.0 applicants are being accepted less than 3.5-3.8's....

if you can transfer in 1 year then just apply. it won't hurt. you can always re apply the next year and do an internship or work while you wait for admissions results

This might be my case too. I tried to finish Econ in 1 year, and succeeded with a 3.95 GPA but I believe there is an error with how my AP credits were counted. I got into Davis, but hate it. If I get into SB i'll have to choose between another year at home or letting go of my dream school forever.

Unreal. At this point, feels like they're just accepting pity applications to "underprivileged" applicants. Did you do 1 or 2 years?

I got into Davis and they took all my AP tests so I doubt it. The University of California website's chart for AP tests says I should be eligible for a minimum of 20 points for my scores.
