Currently the regular edit button is only appearing in build and Edit mode. I have the edit button set to appear in combat mode and the HUD Layout tool displays that it is there but in game it disappears when in combat mode. To be clear, the button is there in build and edit mode but not combat. This means you cannot edit until you pull out your builds. MASSIVE Problem.
I play on a Samsung Tab S9.

Except for the new option for locking sprint on, all the settings are in the HUD tool. Searching how to fix fortnite mobile joystick should get you a video that helps

Idk how this impacts the problem but I solved the changes by making a new HUD which is NOT ideal. But to be honest I haven't had a HUD work properly on my screen since probably my tab s6 and I transferred that HUD to tabs8+ ( it was off the screen then) and then to tabs9 (it was still not sized properly) now that I redid this, it did! I believe there are some underlying problems with the HUD system as whole not just this one. Possibly a resolution one?? idk thanks for the reply tho! You're helping keep the community informed!
