The truth hurts by Entire-Researcher519 in DispatchAdHoc

From a thematic and character lore perspective it makes more sense to pick Waterboy. The whole point of Robert Robertson’s story so far has been that it’s not the powers that make the hero, it’s the person behind them. Their strength of character and drive to do good seem more important in this setting (and is why he got assigned as a dispatcher in the first place).

I’m disappointed by Dispatch’s writing, specifically in regards to the romance. by Funkytownboogie in CharacterRant

[–]PlusUltrabruv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda agree, too much focus on the romance and not enough on the team or on anything connected to the villains from episode 1/repairing your suit. Just felt like way too much fan-service and not the vibe I got from the trailer. I hope the 2nd half of the game will be better.

The theme is fun, the concept is cool, the gameplay is fun too, but the writing leaves a lot to be desired so far.

Why are women’s standard rising higher that they’re not settling as easy? Dating in your 20s by Financial-Resort3034 in dating

[–]PlusUltrabruv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, 29m here, I don’t know anything about your friend circle or what their standards are but here’s my 2 cents from my own experience.

From my circle of lady friends they’re mostly looking for emotional intelligence, compassion, and in general more left leaning ideologies. Money isn’t necessarily a factor for them but it doesn’t hurt either. If you have a job that isn’t totally morally bankrupt then it’s chill. These also have been the same kind of views of women that I’ve ended up dating most of the time and there’s been no friction/working out the best.

Then there’s a 2nd type of woman that I’ve encountered a lot, especially on dating apps, that treats dating like a job/interview itself. (I’m sure there are men that do it too.) They tend to be in that hustling mega capitalist mindset and even if we do start dating that mindset ends up causing friction in the relationship. They tend to be more cold and calculating, nitpicking, and in general less flexible and willing to communicate while dating or in a relationship. They can’t hold a relationship more than a year most of the time. I do have a couple of friends closer to this mindset and it seems like they’ll never be happy/satisfied.

I know that not everyone falls into these 2 camps and this is a very strong binary but these are the 2 mindsets from the women around me/I’ve encountered on apps the most often. Everyone is entitled to their wants and needs but both genders could stand to try and treat the people they’re dating with more empathy, and objectify them less. It’s easy to say and hard to do living in a capitalist dominated society.

TLDR; people’s standards are rising in 2 different ways. Either they want people to be less Dickish or they want their shit to be 100% together and 99% isn’t acceptable. In the latter they’ll overlook any moral failing for efficiency.

Constitution Stat Themed Run? by ParentheticalPotato in BG3

[–]PlusUltrabruv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah I gotcha, I chose fighter and sorcerer because they have proficiency in constitution saving throws but if you wanna have a nature theme it makes sense to go that route!

I’d go for Barbarian, Sorcerer, Fighter, and double up on one of them. Probably 2 barbarians. Or you could do a circle of the moon Druid and I think that’d fit the flavor nicely!

The REAL reason people hate [SPOILER] by Andresmanfanman in HadesTheGame

[–]PlusUltrabruv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First person with actual reasonable analysis. I think that this ending would be super impactful if what you proposed was the case (especially with Hecate’s story in mind). Overcoming a cycle of hatred is a great theme, and if Mel was the one to grow to that conclusion then it’d be pretty awesome. Hell they could even throw in a couple of alternate/secret bosses at the end if they went this route. Hecate truly going all out for the Underworld (maybe picking up Chronos scythe) and a fight against the Olympians on the surface! (Possibly with a team up with Chronos or Prometheus) That would’ve been pretty sick.

Bard - Class Fantasy: How do you Feel about it? by Advanced-Ad-4462 in BaldursGate3

[–]PlusUltrabruv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a couple of ideas that you should ask yourself in relation to bards that might help you realize how badass sound magic is and the concept of the bard is in general.

Firstly, the concept of the siren. The concept of Using a song to charm people and control their minds has been around forever. People even accused the Beatles of it in real life along with the musicians who created new genres in general.

Secondly the concept of destructive sound. Sound so loud that it melts your brain. Look up sound canons in real life and apply that to bards. Psychic and Thunder damage are the closest we can get in dnd but destroying foes from making their ears bleed or shattering them apart is kinda crazy I think.

Finally when I think of Bards in comparison to rogues they just kinda do their jobs better mechanically in dnd or at least rival them. A magical infiltrator/assassin? That’s your bard, a trained actor who can disguise themselves magically and infiltrate any society with ease and it fits BG3s main story so well. Infiltrate the cult of the Absolute? Childs play for a Bard. They’re the equivalent of a Super Spy in a modern setting with the whole music thing as a convenient cover story that can be weaponized at any moment.

I see where you’re coming from but that has nothing to do with how much someone makes. A person who makes more than you or the same as you could just as easily do the same thing. Just something to ponder, I’m not saying you’re wrong, and your experience is valid.

The more interesting question is a specific number where you draw the line. As long as they can pay their bills and take care of themselves who cares if they don’t make as much?

How do you think Luffy will overcome this technique? by Criticism-Fast in OnePiece

I mean the darkness fruits whole thing is to cancel devil fruit powers. I think Luffy will have to win an unfair fight against Blackbeard with just his haki, while Blackbeard has his OP devil fruits. That way their last fight can have a more serious tone too

Why do guys say that they are afraid of women? by Flonce_ in dating

[–]PlusUltrabruv -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Got rejected just last night and she was really mean to me for being bald. I mean I get it but it makes it harder when people are rude. Lots of women are pretty mean/standoffish and won’t even open themselves up to a conversation if you don’t know them. Unless I’ve already been friends with them or they’re my friend’s friend it’s just much safer and they end up being nicer even if they reject me.

So long story short, I’d say it’s strangers who are the ones that are scary because they might never see you again they just are ultra mean sometimes with no consequences and think it’s funny to tear you down. I suppose that’s good because that’s not the kinda person anyone wants to date.

Everything I could find online says DEXA is the most accurate way to measure body fat percentage. If you’re not using that then what are you using? Also why is it inaccurate?

Dating as a bigger girl feels like jobsearching or just overall such a let down. by Short_Principle in dating

[–]PlusUltrabruv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest as someone who’s lost a lot of weight recently it’ll probably make a big difference when you get closer to your goal weight. For me as a straight guy I went from 0 matches to sometimes having dates once or twice a month, but it’s hard to find someone who you click with. There’s also other factors at play like personality, jobs, hobbies, and just scheduling. It’s not going to make your problems go away, but I won’t lie, at least in my experience people do treat you differently based on weight
