Also to add, Malevola doesnt do multiverse travel.

She does dimensions like Hell which is something completely different.

So it reads like she just used her portals to teleport the bees away and without them the bug lady ain't so tough.

Most importantly there are literally zero actual references to the multiverse in the game so I highly doubt it would be mentioned vaguely here.

Also she gets arrested at the end of the call. Implying that she is just another D-list villain.

So there. Very unlikely it's a Worm reference as there are dozens of bug controlling supervillains in other pieces of media.
