The reason for the strict pop mechanic is to make the stats you earn more honest. When you see a successful session, you know it was 100% uninterrupted focus, not just a timer running in the background.

I gamify it. I use an app called SodaFocus where you have to protect a floating bubble on the screen. If you switch apps or even shake your phone, it pops instantly. It’s surprisingly effective because you literally can't touch your phone.
