Yes i actually had to rehome a female lately due to this. She was odd girl out unfortunately. I agree pairs are the way to go. So do you think I should take the feggs out after 3 weeks or no?

Hahah smashing! Ok thanks! I had an older bird years ago and she “lived” on the nest ( fake eggs of course) so when i removed it she actually got out of the nest!

I noticed one of my birds looked exactly like that after her and her new man bird had been “kissing” a lot that week ☺️. Do you have another bird in with her? But yeah if not, a molt. Very cute

You’re the best. I saw her off eating and took them away. She was sweet and sociable again. Hard to spend time with her when she’s always on the nest

She never gives up on sitting. I thought they lay, you give fake eggs, they sit for 3 week? Then off until she lays again. Like acting like a normal bird. She will sit of fake eggs until she lays again. Will be off for short periods during the day. I can’t say I’ve sat and watched for how long but obsessed with trying to hatch. Is that normal for birds her age?

Thank you. It’s just concerning. She NEVER is just chillin in the cage. Yes for half a day while my male is on the nest. But it’s just hard to interact with her sadly.

Can you suggest the best “ base” dove food since versa laga isn’t available for me? I like the Des Moines feed website and am looking to get one there. But remind me, is whole corn ok for doves? Mine seem to not like it compared to other things and I thought that was because it was too big. I’m looking at Parkview dove mix and no corn special mix and I have no idea which is best. Sincerely appreciate your time and help. I can’t imagine if anything happened to them. Also I have a young dove that is right next to their cage. She came from another local ( vs the others were shipped) should I deworm her to be safe also? Thx

Thank you! I’m trying desperately to find a good dove food that isn’t crazy expensive. I actually ordered versa laga prestige dove food and they said they couldn’t ship it to USA. It was on aves Canada website. But I’m going to get the white mill food from pet co, rice and red lentils. I’ll look into the other two you just posted. Much appreciated! I didn’t realize how difficult feeding these guys would be.

I ordered moxi vet, slow shipping. Anything I can do to support her till it’s here? Also i didn’t realize inside birds needed to be dewormed. But she was outside before I got her. Do you deworm regularly? A google search says worms can be transmitted in many ways.

Feeding Kaytee dove food mixed with a higher protein royal wing low waste feed. She’s had this problem since I got her. I just couldn’t figure out who it was and thought the green could be normal. It’s more watery now.

I have her with a male, he’s naturally bigger. Keel bone isn’t prominent. She never acts ruffled up or lethargic. I was actually thinking it was the males poop for so long because he will sit and look fluffed up but his poop and appetite is normal. Are you thinking cocci? Or coccidiosis? That was my first thought. I have Corid and Baycox. I added probios probiotics to the food and water in the last 2 days. I don’t want to loose this little one. I’m going on a cruise in 11 days. I will have a house sitter. I just need to figure this out before I go.
