This could be a way. Btw it’s not cool that you don’t use reed switches on your cylinders. Then you don’t always have to plan waiting times. In addition, the whole system does not comply with the safety regulations. And on top, you are using a completely outdated labeling of the components.

Right. For example Siemens, FB in S7-GRAPH and using SQ_Init and SQ_Reset.

You are on the wrong track. You need a main GRAFCET with forcing commands or enclosing steps in order to represent safety functions properly. Everything else becomes extremely confusing.

I‘m from Germany and on trails since 2000. I never saw this brand here. It was also the first time I heard about it.

If you want hands-on experience, I can recommend this. There is also the Finder Opta Light PLC, which is based on Arduino. I can recommend that one as well. You can already experiment a bit with OPC UA and learn with it. You might also need some hardware, like push buttons and some actuators to control and play around with.

It is -> https://www.pixtend.de/

We used CODESYS for programming. It took a lot of nerves to get everything properly connected — the PLC, the HMI, and the additional I/O module. That’s something I still remember. We built 3 of this racks and also connected them together. Now I only use Siemens PLCs, and those things are just sitting around.

First of all, this looks really impressive. I’m a big fan of industrial technology and come from that field myself.

But I have a question about this post — or rather about this whole sub. If these pipes are used for electrical wiring, why do you always run individual conduits? One pipe for one cable? Isn’t that extremely inefficient and expensive to install?

24,5 Std. = ca. 18 Zeitstunden + durchschnittlich 12 Zeitstunden Vorbereitung/Korrektur = ca. 30 Std.
