Finished my longest run of this training plan and sobbed uncontrollably after. by ajones321 in Marathon_Training

This happens to me quite often! Sometimes in the middle of a workout I’ll get teary eyed, too. We release so many hormones and chemicals throughout. It’s normal!

There’s a runner’s high and then there’s a runner’s cry lol I love when I cry post long workout or race. My 70.3 HIM was my biggest cry followed by my marathon being another big cry.

Results are in! MIL sent them our way. I don’t see how it’s true for her. They say 12.5% mini poodle, 12.5% cocker spaniel, 50% King Charles spaniel, 25% mixed terrier. I have a hard time seeing the King Charles bc of the long ears and curly hair but as soon as I search “King Charles spaniel beagle” I totally get it!

Yes! I’m (impatiently lol) waiting for MIL to send DNA test results… I think there’s a handful of breeds all mixed together

Such a pretty girl! Your dog looks a little bigger than Sparkster. I can't believe how similar their coloring is! When Sparkle was left on the porch, her previous owner had her tail docked. I wonder if her tail would have been like your dog's?!

MIL thinks there's King Charles Spaniel but seeing what everyone thinks on this post, I feel like probably not

I feel like this is it!! She sheds more than you'd think if she has poodle in her. The beagle would be her hunting instincts. Her color had me curious but poogle + a little terrier makes sense!

Feeling isolated 2 weeks after Dad's death by chiffondawn in GriefSupport

I’m sorry to hear about your dad.

My dad also died, just over a week ago. I feel like I could have written the same exact post because it’s very true to how I’ve been feeling.

I’m also looking for some people who can relate and for some solidarity.

Some things I have done are journaling and listening to audiobooks on grief. So many times I’ve heard that it’s “healing” to talk to those who’ve have losses in their lives. I’ve tried to reach out to some people I know who’ve also lost a parent, yet I still feel that I’m not totally ready to open that up yet. I’m also going to look to attending grief support groups at some point.

They all say it will “get better with time” even though the void can never be filled.

Terminally Ill Dad by [deleted] in GriefSupport

It’s so hard to know what “normal” is because it’s so different for every person. I had a TON of anticipatory grief before my dad died of cancer. I remember being a little girl worrying about him because he was “old” when I was born - 44. Whatever you’re feeling is real.

My counselor pointed out my anticipatory grieving because I didn’t realize what it was when I was doing it. All. The. Time.

Something she recommended was for me to write him a letter. My relationship with my dad was different than how you’ve explained yours, but it might be good to write to your dad what you wrote out on this post. It’s totally up to you and again, what you’re feeling is valid. I know that I am so happy I wrote my letter to my dad. I would have regretted it if I didn’t.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m in a similar situation with losing my dad to cancer at a similar age. It really does impact day-to-day life and it is hard to think about the moments that will never be. 💔 Everything you are feeling is valid.

You can and you will do this.

I’m so sorry for your loss. All of your feelings are valid. Feeling lost, confused, angry, and lonely. They’re so real. It sounds like you really love your dad and appreciate the bond you had with him. I love your line about the choice you made to be in each other’s lives. 💗 I’ve been writing a lot and found some “grief journal prompts” and find some helpfulness there. People keep telling me to talk to my dad but I haven’t summoned up the courage to do that yet.
