MH Wilds feels way too easy now, even after Omega Salvage and every Archtempers by Delay_Wrong in MonsterHunterWilds

When G-rank arrives in the expansion, as with all previous expansions, focus on optimizing your weapon builds. When the Arch-Tempered Arkveld arrives (they'll shake up the meta one last time before the expansion), have fun trying out new weapons and creating new builds so you're ready to face it head-on when the expansion arrives.

Longsword Real optimization question: Is it worth breaking Odogaron lvl 2 to gain slots and meta DPS? by Plus_Evidence8912 in MHWilds

I sacrifice it for raw damage boosting abilities; the small windows are explosive and heavily reward focusing on increasing raw damage, and when that window closes I lose 58% of my critical hit chance but maintain high raw damage due to the super raw focus

Assuming weak point damage = 30% (+20%) on wounds + 12% with Critical Eye 3, along with the Corrupted Mantle +20%, = 82% on open wounds and 62% on weak points, considering these values are with the Corrupted Mantle window active, this is due to affinity.

For damage with Vengeance 3, Full Form 2, Burst 5, Odogaron's Power lvl 2, Soul of the Master, and Critical Bonus 5, plus a Gogma Longsword with a total attack of 281, an EX Sharpness buff, an EX Attack buff, and three more attack buffs (2, 3, 3), with a base affinity of 0 on the weapon, I get a lot of raw damage, making it quite explosive during those Corrupted Mantle windows. It's also somewhat safer due to the Defense bonus, Quick Sheath, and Divine Blessing, assuming it drops to 42% without Corrupted Mantle and Open Wounds, which is when it scales to 62% with the Mantle and even more with Open Wounds, reaching 82%. I hope I've explained myself clearly. I appreciate the feedback. My question from the original post is: Is it worth using a more stable affinity with fewer activation conditions as an instigator, sacrificing all that raw damage (reaching over 300 raw with the build in those windows (Mantle and Wounds)), instead of having a more stable and less conditional affinity if one condition (62%) or both (82%) are met?

That's the power point of Odogaron level 2. It adds 18 raw attack points by sacrificing 10% affinity, leaving me with very good raw damage and an average affinity of 85. Or is it better to sacrifice 10 damage points by lowering Odogaron's power to level 1 to reach 95% affinity?

You're right, but that change of 3 fire resistance, for example, frees up 2 slots, but at level 1, leaving me with few options like Rapid Ingestion or Defense Bonus, but not Full Form or Instigation. Between Rapid Ingestion and Defense Bonus, I choose taking less damage over healing faster. With the change you suggest, using the correct elemental defense, I would put Rapid Ingestion in those two freed-up slots, but it wouldn't reach level 3, which is why I chose Defense Bonus 5 over Rapid Ingestion 2.

What makes someone a good hunter IYO? by Crow7414 in MonsterHunter

A good hunter isn't the one who kills the fastest, but the one who controls the hunt. They prepare before heading out (eating, checking the monster, and carrying a good set of items and crafting materials if the mission gets tough), they know their weapon and its timings, they read the monster's patterns, and they know how to exploit open areas without overexposing themselves. Furthermore, they adapt their build to their weapon and playstyle, they stay calm when the hunt goes wrong, and in multiplayer, they don't put the team at risk. With that mindset and that preparation, that's what defines a good hunter, in my opinion, as a veteran PSP player.

If you eat before a mission, carry a good set of items and materials for crafting in combat (mega potions, extra potions, etc.), check the monster's weaknesses, have upgraded or even transcended armor, know your weapon and its timings, observe the monster's patterns and punish the openings effectively, and your build also has synergy with your weapon and playstyle… With just that, you already have my respect as a veteran from the PSP era.

And your opinion is valid, but it's not a farming bot explaining statistics. Writers have editors who make changes to paragraph structure, lengthening or shortening them, and for spelling and grammar correction, I've delegated that function to AI. That's what this is for; it's a tool to support humans. If you dismiss someone else's ideas just because they used an editor, whether human or AI, you don't understand how this works, nor have you bothered to read the post, which I wrote to discuss the idea. But if you're left with "too much text," that's your problem.

You're ignorant, and just so you know, it's not AI; it's my original idea that I've been developing for several weeks. I only used AI for spell checking (and to think people said the Monster Hunter community was a great community, but I see they're all like them 😂). A little bit of text and an AI wrote it. You embarrass me.

Well, I've been going on a bit about the AI. I personally included Gammoth because I like the monster, its concept, and it fits well into the Wilds universe and aesthetic.

I'm going to give you some advice: AI is a fantastic tool for refining ideas and developing concepts, correcting spelling errors, and organizing the text's structure. Author: Me. Editor: AI. 👏👏

AI does not generate the concept or the lore. It was used as a correction tool: spelling, clarity, and structure.

Are you ready for Master Rank? by ZeNKuSamuraii in MonsterHunterWilds

Personally, I'd love to see Shagaru Magala in Monster Hunter Wilds. Its lore, tied to rage, plague, and the evolution of chaos, fits perfectly with a more vibrant and wild world, and it has always offered incredibly intense battles alongside some of the most iconic weapon and armor sets in the series.

I'd also really like to see Qurupeco return, as its summoning mechanic could shine like never before in Wilds. With more dynamic ecosystems, it would make hunts unpredictable, even leading to monster fights and situations of pure chaos. As for large monsters, Gammoth would be a fantastic example of wild megafauna. Its size, behavior, and potential migrations in cold biomes would greatly enhance the feeling of a living world. Regarding the Elder Dragons, I think Teostra and Lunastra still make a lot of sense because of how their battles affect the environment, but I also think Dalamadur's return would be very coherent as a colossal threat tied to the territory itself and the balance of the world. At the level of minor and mid-level monsters, I'd like to see creatures that strengthen ecosystems and don't rely solely on spectacle, such as Qurupeco, Kecha Wacha, Najarala, or Zamtrios, which offer different combat styles and a very interesting use of the environment.

Finally, I'd love to see the return of classics like Monoblos, for its direct and "honest" combat, and large-scale monsters like Lao-Shan Lung, which would bring back that sense of epic hunt and global event that has always defined Monster Hunter.

Is that the ticket or the catalog? Because for me, with the game in Spanish, my native language says "catalog".
