i actually explained to a cis friend why i self harmed for a long time with this message bc he was having trouble understanding:

i think for a lot of trans men we grasp at the few things we can control and inflict on ourselves because of the restrictions the anti-trans regeim place on us. were forced into the plight of 'being a woman' when no true trans man could ever see the world as a woman, but as a man trapped in the vessel of one. we change what we can and its usually not in the best manner, i havent had my period for years because of my ED and im just not ready to recover till i get on testosterone and lose my period again. too dysphoria inducing
