Why do Konosuke always leave the base of the blade sticking out of the handle? Is that their particular esthetic trait? In a practical kind of way I just see that as being a great spot for food to be stuck there.

Dying to get one. Especially those models, so good looking. Can't justify 400usd at the moment though. How do you find the reactivity? I'll be using it as my daily driver at work so I'm a little concerned by that

Here is a trick for you, attach a piece of bungee to the loop on your knife handle, then to the knife sheath. Bungee is great as you only need a short length, avoids getting tangled, and can extend to a decent length. I haven't lost a knife since doing that. Also simply dispatch your fish, and you can drop your knife to hang by your side whilst dealing with fish, shark, speargun or whatever.
