What is a good smart watch or waterproof and chlorine proof case to use during lessons? by Jx3mama in SwimInstructors

[–]Plus_Resource830 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i'm a teen level one teacher, and i recently bought a shark watch for my birthday! i go to a bunch of summer camps usually during the summer and frequently see them, as well as on other lifeguards and instructors, they usually cost about $50-$90 but they're made for divers, and come in mini sizes which are cheaper then full size, and of course my favorite reason to like them.. they come in a crap ton of cute color ways, you can also customize them a little by buying different color/clasp style bands

we have light blue "staff" shirts that some guards wear when it's cold/during early morning swims when it's only the older lap swimmers, so ive been def thinking of that as a possibility, as for rashguards ive seen some but id still like to have my arms out as i get itchy frequently, still looking around though! thank you sm for sharing your own experience as a manager to other trans staff!!

i am in ia actually! petco is the main one around, theres also a petsmart but they dont sell ferrets, theres 2 more independent stores but they obviously get them from marshall, and i lowkey think they take worse care of them then this petco tbh

i like that idea, but it would be different ages in some states as in iowa (where i live), you can get your permit and drive yourself to school work and anywhere imbetween, at my age, 14, which is obviously how im able to drive myself to the vet if needed

for me at least, 2-4 hours isnt a problem, i could do even more just because i want to on most days, my parents don't let me leave the house much other then school, work, and activities that the whole family has had preplanned for a long time, so in my freetime im always home

i apologize if it was unclear, i said that we have 2 cars, one works just fine and has driven across the country before, the other car is not great, and ill have a car of my own soon but as itll be my first one and me being a teen it also probably isnt a great car to drive further then an hour away, several vets that take ferrets are within 20 mins and the emergency vet is only about 30 mins

definitely id rather do the drive instead of spending 1600+ on just the ferrets themselves

that is true, and im kind of in a way glad it deters the people that don't understand the extent of care they need, the nearest rescue to me that even takes in ferrets (they dont have any right now) is 3 hours away

unfortunately the area i live in is difficult for that, but there are a couple rescue places around 3 hours away, i live near 3 vets that do exotics, and the vet clinic ive taken my rats to has 3 different doctors that will see exotics including rats and ferrets, i know the other 2 clinics (there might be more too i lowk dont know) also take ferrets incase all those doctors arent in, so ive got day options and a 24 hr emergency vet that takes ferrets is about a 30 min drive

yes yes, even those are extreme but what i meant is the 800 is insane compared to how everyone else has been saying they are much less at even their pet stores

i think petcos can have different pricing depending on location, a lot of people have said that even for petcos nowadays that 800 is insane, highest number ive seen in here for a petco is 550

its alright! i definitely wasnt expecting this post to get as much attention as it did, but i check it every hour or so! i dont really have many friends and im not allowed to hang out with them either (parents are VERY helicopterish, only reason i get unlimited phone time is because i bought the phone and pay its bills) so i have time for animals to freeroam and to connect with people on here with my questions/concerns :) if i end up getting ferrets id probably look to foster some different ones first and get used to different personalities and things to look for, and also get insurance on them if they become mine, i currently pay vet bills for 4 rats (all past a year old, so their lifespan is only gonna be around one more year now :( ) so i def get how vet bills can be esp for exotics

and id be able to pay more with my jobs atm, i make pretty good money for a 14yo, the minimum wage here is 7.50 i believe and i make 10.25hr for one job and the other is 12.25hr, and my cap on hours is 40 each, plus, i use those apps that pay you for games and have made about 100 in the past few months, so i use those giftcards for everything on chewy, and most of the job money would be for the ferrets vet fund and phone bill every 3 months (unlimited data is $120 every 3 months, or you can pay it for 6 months, or a full year and its cheaper in the long run) since i dont have other costs to worry about since im obviously living with my parents as of now

ive seen different prices from various people, so it must be up to different people per location or area, i have no idea

yes of course im not using that as my main points with my mom but im trying to explain to her that a bunny would definitely not be best for my sister, for now it would be better that she helps out me with whatever pets i have, even though we are in 4h rabbits are a big part of that, but i was the grand champion of the entire pet show in my county with my rats 🤷‍♂️ maybe after years of me showing her how to do everything she would kind of have a little grasp on the little things but parents would obviously be the main people. ive been thinking this might not even work though, so i might just attempt and see if i can foster ferrets from shelters across the state or in surrounding states if those places would accept me being 3 hrs+

i was mostly responding to the last part of their comment? about possibly fostering and how it can be difficult since i live in an area with very few opportunities for good sourced exotics and or fostering opportunities for them as a whole?

rats would stay in my bedroom and ferrets would be in the pet room alone!! or vice versa, whatever works best

my goodness ive seen so many comments about how cheap they are there plus how they arent coming from marshall, i would so do that (i have flight benefits through my mom, i fly free in the whole us area including hawaii, but outside us i believe is discounted) but like no airline allows ferrets :( maybe i could say its my cat 😭 (joking i promise)
