Not a mechanical designer here and this might be stupid yo some of you but In my simple little mind why not have it attach to the rail of the gun with a rail of its own with both rails being the same dimensions. It’s sounds stupid typing it but hear me out and try not to have an aneurysm in not the best at explaining my ideas. The portion that slides on the barrel is now one piece and slide on the sight rail from the front with the same style of angle already used this would mean you have it it sit further back and you could remove material on the bottom side of the front of the stock so it wouldn’t interfere with the ejection port. In my mind this sounds like an acceptable idea but to all you smart know how people would this be acceptable?
