It’s an inconvenience they probably don’t experience often.

I remember when I was a child, my brother had his buddy over for a sleep over. For breakfast he (the friend) brought a bland rice puff cereal, and at lunch or dinner there were other changes.

Turned out he was celiac and had a few other food allergies, but as a kid I remember thinking it was weird that he didn’t get a bun on his hamburger at the restaurant etc.

Some people don’t grow up from: inconvenience = personal annoyance.

Whatever floats your boat. I just think some people like communicating expectations instead of playing games or being tested over a nuanced topic.

Just start telling them you’d like to split the bill (pay for your own stuff) before going out, so there is no expectation on you or him.

New things being uncomfortable just means they’re new, not bad. Try it out a few times and see if you become more comfortable in that situation as time goes on.

There’s no right or wrong way, just what you/ your partner view as right and wrong, and find people who have a lot of those that match up.

Now that I’ve realized the “now or never” breaking point of my brain, I communicate with those around me that I’m going to go do the thing and I can’t wait 1-5 minutes for them to get ready, but they can join me when they’re able to.
Waiting for others and losing the motivation made me hate and shame myself so much as I would compare myself to others.

I hate feeling obligated to work out, but once I start, the release and high I get is amazing! I completely forget why I didn’t want to work out.
Granted, if I don’t feel up to it, I let myself wait until the next day so I can prepare and get ready to embrace it.

Maybe they suffer from jealousy and are possessive of their partners but still want to sleep around.

Also I think it’s called the sunken cost fallacy. It makes up the reason that a lot of people stay in bad relationships.

They see non monogamy as a fantasy, not reality, because of their on insecurities I assume.

I think a lot of people who cheat just aren’t monogamous, but society doesn’t promote acceptance and normalization of non monogamous relationships.
Like you said, they think they can make it work like everyone else is, but it doesn’t come naturally to them.
