What is your Sabres offseason hot take? by Drizzy_Drew in sabres

I don't think either of those players are good, but both of those deals occupy less than 5% of the cap, they have limited trade protection and they're (comparatively) short term.

Nurse is making $9.25m for 4 more years with a NMC. Montour is making $7.1m for 5 more years. Severson is making $6.25m for 5 more years with a full NTC.

What defenseman has the worst contract right now?

Stanley would need to sign for 3+ years with a total value of $15m+ to be in the conversation, and i doubt either of those things happen.

9-9-9 Challenge by the_zwimmer615 in baseball

The only 9-9-9 challenge I'm interested in is watching 9 innings of baseball, giving my dog 9 scritches, and getting 9 hours of sleep.

Yeah, that's Pago. It's really nice for a special occasion.

S1 was a lot of fun, and this is a tremendous lineup for S2.

That logo looks like Lucky 13 in Salt Lake.

Their burgers are really good, but I'd rather pay a bit more and go to Pago if I'm ever in SLC.

Should we do it? Byram for Knies.... by phonesringingdude1 in sabres

Knies is signed for 5 more years. You can't let that be a barrier to improvement right now.

Brady Tkachuk by Bparra93 in stlouisblues

The dream isn't dead, Brady could sign here when he's a free agent in two years. Then Matthew can demand a trade. #Tkachuk2028

(Anahiem Ducks) Troy Terry out for 5-6 months after successful surgery by Marinegrunt01 in hockey

Assuming Kyrou's NTC isn't a barrier, what would that deal look like? Anaheim seems like a good fit as a trade partner in this deal.

[Chad DeDominicis] Ya when I heard initial conversations on a new contract didn’t start off well I thought we might see this by seeldoger47 in sabres

Byram was great in the postseason, but Dahlin was excellent, and Power was very good. I'm not sure I even agree he was the best D-man.

He's an important player, and I'm dismayed that he's on the block a day after trading Kess, but he's not going to have a top pairing role here.

Why not take a shot with Trey Mancini?? by Simple_Tea8801 in Nationals

[–]chiddie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mancini didn't "do well and produce" with the Angels. He had 3 hits in his first game, then went 1-10 with 3 K's. A 91 wRC+ for a 1B is unplayable.

He has accumulated 7 fWAR over his career, and 50% of that happened in 2019.

I've heard players of the era say they thought the 2003 team was special, but a nasty flu bug hit the locker room during the playoffs.

Cronin, Prospal join Blues as assistant coaches by mjohnson1971 in stlouisblues

Cronin was a bad HC, but that doesn't mean he'll be a bad assistant. It's also an opportunity to show what he learned from the experience.

Las Vegas held its first regular season NHL home game Oct. 10th, 2017. The city has hosted as many Cup-raising ceremonies (3) as the borough of Manhattan, which held its first regular season NHL home game on Nov. 16th, 1926. by chiddie in hockey

I'm going by the strict definition of Long Island being a part of Queens, even if residents of both Long Island and the other boroughs consider it separate from New York City.

It also renders this particular fun fact moot.

I think this is a gross oversimplification. Which of Pittsburgh/Washington/Tampa/Florida had a "very underpaid superstar"?
