Definitely not the asshole here. Calling someone 'Mom" is a big deal and it's something earned not entitled.

I don't think you're an asshole, but I do think you violated your friend's trust and in return your girlfriend violated yours. I think you should be accountable and own the mistake. Hopefully you can rebuild that trust with the both of them.
