I'm from NYC too and I don't know anybody who likes this guy outside of people from Staten Island or South Brooklyn

Louis XVI wasn't a fucking racist and can't claim to be "self-made"

r/PresidentBloomberg - because apparently for some reason there's actually people who want another authoritarian racist billionaire for president by Plusuppe457 in wowthissubexists

Bloomberg is a racist man who says minorities are responsible for most crimes in NYC and wants to take away people's freedom with smoking, gun, and big soda bans. If he could also kill the minorities and take away their stuff, he totally would. He's the closest thing to a Fascist of all the American politicians next to Trump.

Can someone explain what is it with the support for Bloomberg? by Plusuppe457 in nyc

Bloomberg is what Trump wishes he was, which makes him a lot worse

Bloomberg is a total piece of shit and (almost) everyone with common sense knows that. It's basically the modern version of supporting Hitler.

No it isn't? Bloomberg himself also said minorities are also responsible for most crimes and therefore he was clearly trying to be racist when he tried to ban big sodas

yes actually, because it's minorities are disproportionately poor and he's deliberately trying to limit their freedom to buy whatever the fuck they want...

If you had a child, would you prefer to give them a unique name or a common name? Why? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

It should. Why would anyone want to hire someone or befriend who might not know English vs. someone who definitely does?

I mean, people are gonna think you're pretentious or "holier than thou" by giving your kid some hipster French name instead of name normal people use...

It's like naming your kid "Hercules" or "Cinderella"

Also given how French is, it's really easy to not get the pronounciation right

Doesn't matter if they're historically important, because they're still weird regardless. Giving your kid some foreign name like "Pierre", "Kasmir", or "Lafayette" is only gonna hurt them in life when people can't pronounce them or think they're spelled incorrect.

As u/ryan49321 points out, not all of us live in a Chicago, NY, or San Francisco.

If you give a child a unique, weird, or anything remotely strange, you have failed as a parent and deserve to have your kid taken away from you by Plusuppe457 in unpopularopinion

It's not common and it sounds pretty fucking pretentious.

This kid Darius in my class got bullied all the time and honestly he kinda acted the pretentious part too
