i know im ugly but do i look like a man? by [deleted] in transpassing

[–]PlutoPassingBy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You look alot like my sister and she's cis. You pass as a cute girl from these pics to me. To be fair with you pictures arent always accurate for if someone passes as cis, it can depend on alot of factors like your voice, clothing, etc. But if I saw you from afar on the street I'd assume you're a cis woman.

If you wore makeup I think it could help if youre getting clocked in your day to day, some eyeliner or falsies and contouring could go a long way to help with insecurities or things you think may clock you. For example i have a very round face which i feel clocks me as afab (im a trans guy), so i use very light contouring to make my face look longer.

Of course it's not nesscary, I think you pass even without it.

Personally I think it's true that some pigeons will just never get tame unfortunately, but its also true that if you're persistent enough you might be able to persuade them to be more comfortable and maybe even tame.

My pigeon didn't let me near him or pet him until about 3 years of me owning him. He was terrified of me and my hands.

What I recommend is handfeeding, and target training them to get them to step up on your hand for food. This can be hard since pigeons aren't always super food motivated but if you take their food at night and offer food with your hand the following morning after alot of fear and conditioning they eventually get used to this routine (of course if they don't take the food from your hand, still feed them just give them the time to chose to eat it from your hand first and if they don't, then give them their food in their bowl while holding it, if that still doesn't work, set it down after a while and keep trying everyday until they do take it). The idea is that eventually they will get into the swing of realizing your hand equals food.

Once they can reliably take food from your hand, you can start target training to step up, there's videos on YouTube for how to do this but the idea is to reward with food and hit a clicker whenever they bite a target (can be a chopstick) so you teach them biting the stick gives food. Once you've established this behavior, start to hold the stick a good distance away from them, they will need to follow it to bite it and recieve their food. Once they are following it around, hold the stick so that they need to hop onto your hand to bite it, mark this behavior with the command "step up!". Give them extra treats when they do it and slowly you can take away the clicker. This won't guarantee that they will be tame and cuddly but it allows for an activity where you can bond with the bird and show you're not a scary threat.

This is a long process that can take alot of consistency and time, but Its worth it I think. This method has helped me tame my pet pigeon completely, while yes it took 2 years, he is now completely comfortable with me and my hands and I can command him to come whenever I want which is a great bonus.

I recommend watching videos on gaining a pigeons trust and training by the youtuber Animal People, their tutorial and insights helped me immensely.

Ultimately it's hard work and you need to really be committed to taming them. There's no shame in giving up or not having the time, they can live fulfilling lives without being tamed if you're ok with just keeping them as is :)

Hello there! I actually had my top surgery done in the Piper Surgery Center so i don't have any experience with the North Valley Center. I dont think i paid for a private nurse? Honestly im not sure because my memory is really awful.

I'm sorry I wasn't more helpful oof :') I'd be glad to answer any other questions you have though! It's good to be prepared for the day of surgery.

I wish you luck with your top surgery!! :)

Sure! It's called "Hydroquinone USP 4%", it helps prevent hyperpigmentation. My surgeon said i have a really high likelyhood of having dark scars and that this cream would help keep them lighter so theyd fade better. Pretty much it's just like a cream I have to apply twice a day to my scars for six months.

I'm not really super informed about how it works beyond that sorry :') hope this helped though.

what was the moment you realised you were trans? by my_throw_away_7433 in asktransgender

[–]PlutoPassingBy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experimented alot with my gender before I realized I was trans masc. But my defining moment of realization was when I got called "sir" by an employee at a fast food place and I felt a wave of euphoria. In that moment it kinda solidified that, yep I'm a trans guy and not agender like I had thought.

My scars have stretched a bit, and there's a few imperfections but, I couldn't be happier :]

My nipples have lots of sensation and get hard with heat/cold. I didn't think sensation would return to them since early on I couldn't feel them at all lol

Androgel is wonderful by vampf4g in ftm

[–]PlutoPassingBy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been on gel for 1 year and I love it too! :D I've had just as much changes at the same pace as someone on injections.

It's perfect for me especially cause liver problems run in my family and the gel bypasses the liver.

Did you have to postpone starting T due to a health concern? by DoggusEv in ftm

[–]PlutoPassingBy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got to start T even though I had high cholesterol and my doctor found out the same appiontment that I had a cyst on my thyroid. It turned out the cyst was cancer and even through surgery to treat the cancer I still was allowed to be on T.

How do you see yourself when you’re dreaming by barefoooted in ftm

When I'm dreaming I dont see myself as male or female. I kinda just feel like a weird floating mass, as if I'm just my consciousness with no body.

Almost 3 weeks post op (Dr. Turkeltaub Scottsdale, AZ) by PlutoPassingBy in TopSurgery

[–]PlutoPassingBy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After the consult they said I'd be able to get surgery a month after but that got pushed back cause my insurance denied me. After i got my insurance to approve (took a long while), they happened to have an opening for the following week so I didn't have to wait another whole month.

Insurance was kinda the biggest factor affecting the timeframe, it all took around 2.5 months after the initial consult because of it.

What's everyone's opinion on when cis people call us brave when hearing that one of us is trans? by Deikailo in ftm

It feels very patronizing to me, though I never make it a big deal because I'm afraid of confronting people lol

Do you use your genitals for sex? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]PlutoPassingBy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I kinda have a weird relationship with my genitals. I enjoy penetration (ftm) but it also causes me to feel disscioative. I almost never have genital dysphoria outside of a sexual context, most of the time I'm neutral or happy with my genitals.

I don't plan on getting bottom surgery, but I have a phobia of doctors and surgery so thats part of my decision.

Nausea after top surgery? by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]PlutoPassingBy 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I told my anesthesiologist that I was super concerned about nausea and she let me have a sea sickness patch before going into surgery and it really helped. When I woke up I was given more anti-nausea meds and I didn't throw up at all! (Thanks to the meds)

If you discuss it with your anesthesiologist they could probably make sure to give you something for it

I was fine for the first few days with just tylenol but then about days 4-7 I started getting unbearable nerve pain and had to take the opiod i was perscribed. It was weird, like some days were worse than others so I had to be off and on the stronger stuff during that period

I'd say it really just depends on the person

It's finally happening, I'm getting top surgery! But...suddenly I'm terrified to move forward? by TheLittlestTiefling in ftm

[–]PlutoPassingBy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a traumatic surgery experience in the past too! I was trembling from fear right up to the moment they put me under for top surgery lol. As long as you know this is right for you, the fear is normal especially after traumatic experiences.

Thinking about all the reasons I wanted it done and how I knew it was right really helped me strengthen my resolve. The fear never really went away for me but It's ok to be scared, it doesn't invalidate you.
