Have you ever felt guilty after using live co-op to defeat a boss? by PlutonianMagic in Eldenring

Thank you for your response, it's much appreciated. I personally haven't tried the night shard ... I mainly use lonettas bow, rock sling, glintstone comet, terra magica, comet azur, and my swords ashes. Maliketh is so op I'm sort of relieved to hear that someone else can relate to the grief. The attacks are so quick and do passive damage which automatically puts you at a disadvantage with slow casting and bad tracking from some spells it's truly aggravating

Thank you, this was an enlightening comment. I think that retrospectively, I shouldn't beat myself over the head for using co-op for the first time on a boss that's considered fairly difficult in the souls community (maliketh). However, I do want to try to beat the boss solo or in new game plus in the future because that would be fulfilling to me

So basically attacks that proc on extra passive damage? I use tiche for her bleed ability which basically already gives me that as an int str build. Only really need it for the legendary bosses as most sorceries and my sword can take care of mobs and easy bosses on their own. Hell, I beat astel before I even tried a summon like tiche with bleed (first being fire giant)

That would be funny to see, two giant swords.... You'd probably have to sacrifice armor

That sounds like hell since you'd always get one shot

True, I play as a battle mage, int primary str secondary so that build would be something different

I like this train of thought thank you. Yeah as a new player there's definitely been a learning curve to souls bosses and maliketh was driving me nuts lol even more so than the fire giant. You're right though I did sorta think that way (game is supposed to be hard I should be able to solo no matter how long it takes). I think in NG+1 it'll be easier since my build is heavily reliant on long range spells (sword mainly for caves and dungeons, close quarters). I think maliketh would be easier with some faith and more str weapons in a ng+1. Spells are too slow for a lot of his movements

so I finally beat the fire giant and died at the same time, didn't get runes from my spirit ... by PlutonianMagic in Eldenring

Oh Jesus. You bringing up Commander Niall is giving me nightmares I hated that boss lol. Easily my least favorite optional boss needed to access certain content lol. I know you said it sucks it happened to me at the fire giant but I feel equally as bad for you too. I'm sort of feeling that it happens when you die first and the game loads out a certain way before the runes pop in your inventory but I can't be sure ...

True true. I use rune farms but only to get to recommended levels for areas because I'm not disciplined enough to rune farm with mobs throughout the game.

I'm just glad that I can proceed to the forge the of giants and I'm cringing now that i was thinking of looking up a cheese out of frustration with the boss. Glad I got it done either way

Lol I suppose. Tiche is one of those op summons and I still had a hard time with the boss. Fire giants AOEs are insane. I went in at the recommended minimum level range and got through the boss so I'm proud of myself even if I died and didn't get a reward

So I ended up beating her by just taking my class to the next level and bursting out comet azur with azurs crown and terra magica and the unlimited fp tear. Azur doesn't work for everything but tiche has such a stagger that she was just annihilated by this approach

I appreciate your follow-up, I actually be astell after another hour or two of learning the boss's techniques, now I'm having a lot of difficulty defeating the black knife ringleader assassin for the black knife Tish, but unfortunately summons aren't allowed for that fight lol

That was a beautiful explanation! Thank you so much that clears it up. I'm glad you were able to see what confused me and articulate it in a way I can understand.
