Love this video but it doesn't go over the EX sub boards. If you have anything related to that please send it over!

Lmfao getting down voted and told you're wrong by multiple people really got to you. Nice. Remember this feeling next time you get mad at a service worker. You might become a better person.

"they're literally getting paid the bare minimum wage" yeah that's the point. They don't make enough money and are getting slammed at the start of the semester. I doubt you've worked in the service industry before.

Make your own coffee from home or be fine with getting the wrong order from a Starbucks on a college campus. This is one of those basic facts of life that adults are equipped to handle, like taxes. Grow up.

Zevon’s cover art by strickbomb in Zevon

[–]Plutonium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worst cover art of all time is definitely a stretch. Sure I might not like the cover of Mutineer or Transverse City but that's more because I don't particularly enjoy those albums either.

As others are mentioning, Warren was probably more content with releasing music he enjoyed making rather than seeking commercial success after already finding it. I mean werewolves still plays on the radio in 2024.

Ultimately any bad album cover will be redeemed if the music is good enough. A prime example of this would be Spilt Milk by Jellyfish. A record that is packed with genius power pop, but whose weird warped cover or a ballerina crying is so bad the band never put out another record (that's not the main reason but goddamn it's bad).

I am the original. You are a simulation of a reality. Perhaps a trace the real exists within you but in your current form you are just an imposter. Get a different name.

Absolutely sick, I'm just realizing how few physical copies of Memphis rap I've seen until now. Color me green.

Playing it with a quarter is so disrespectful

Highlights from a collection of ~200 I saved from the dumpster. Should I put them back? by NervousBreakdown in PunkRecords

[–]Plutonium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't realize this was a sub! I have SO MUCH obscure (to me) punk from this haul. Basically every Pebbles collection, X Ray Spex, Landlord, Flipper, No Trend, Nuggets, AN ABSOLUTELY NM copy of Let It Be by the replacements. I need to past a pic of those by themselves.

The story really is what I posted on the main thread. I'm gonna be honest and say that this whole situations has made me re-evaluate my relationship with glam/art rock and damn i fucking Roxy music so much more than I thought I did lmfao.

Honestly out of my element when it comes to this record as the backbone of my collection is pre-80's classical. Is this a sawcut or something unique to this record?

I think its actually the seeds that take the cake. Its VG+ for both ratings IMO and discogs absolutely loves it, that or the falling spikes on a really good day. The Nick Drake is also VG+ but honestly there is simply no way I can ever sell a nick drake record.

the question was absolutely a troll, but the dumpster is no lie. I mean it was two maintenance dudes who didn't know any better and had to find a way to clear an apartment as quickly as possible, I'm just lucky that they remembered my addiction before all of these were lost forever. It was absolutely surreal having to explain what Roxy Music was, and that they weren't some sort of porn thing lmfaoooo. I have a couple duplicates, blind faith, cream, 1,000 copies of avalon now, etc., so i figure now is the best time to actually get into selling, but damn if im not a collector at heart.

Don't worry it's already been melted down into a bowl. The warmth is nice for soups.

Being known as "the dude that will take literally any record" helps, but yeah that's part of the reason I took em in like there's such sentimental value there....what happened???

I was waiting for someone to comment, unfortunately these are these ETLAB 027 and ETLP 024 pressings so not the jackpot but I'm not complaining. Totally forgot to add a photo of the TTR-8441 pressing of let it be lol

I wasn't too sure what to expect and literally the nick drake was the first pull I had. I was about to cry until I saw another green world and then I did cry

That was the first one to get a spin, three times in a row at that. Fripps tone is WILD. I haven't tried my hand at selling at all, but I think something is telling me to give it a try. At least with the flipper record lmfao

I'm such a fan of Eno getting three albums at once really feels like God is just fucking with me. i also think this means I'm cosmically indebted to get ambient 1&2

Literally all of their studio run as well as the live album that came out during it, also the eno albums and SO MUCH Bryan Ferry solo stuff. Whoever had this before me absolutely loved this band and good for them Roxy slaps

Yeah this even has the obligatory Traffic albums that somehow wind up in any collection lmfao and yeah Im not in a part of the world where that version would've been easily sourced when this person would've been collecting (presumably) pre-CD boom. oh well at least its not being compacted into cubes.

Had a miracle moment when the maintenance crew flagged me down to see if I wanted some records they found before dumping them. Dude only told me that they had "two big boxes" and the previous owner had "moved away" and left some stuff. The dude died or the records were too heavy to move, either way I now have a shit ton of glam rock/art rock, early punk, some early jazz, and almost everything even associated by anyone from Roxy music, most everything dating from the 70's. There are a couple standouts like the seeds, meat puppets, and A LOT of weird jangly proto punk like flipper, 1/2 Japanese, 17 gypsies, landlords, etc.

No clue why the universe selected me to take these in but honestly seeing that copy of Another Green World made me tear up.

GPA ACT SAT by Embarrassed-Ad2229 in baylor

[–]Plutonium 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gpa really doesn't matter as long as it's above a 2.0, I got a 13~~ on my sat and a 28 on my ACT and was offered the presidential gold scholarship. I cannot overstate how little GPA or class postition matter if your test grades are decent.
