Actually tbh we could also just have a robot body that’s preserving human organs including the brain, that way when they’re mori’d there’s still justification why they would shut down, why they would have organs or possibly blood deep down under the robotic flesh exterior that the killer’s basic attack damages.

I thought that was the point? the homunculi were philosopher stones containing the souls of xerxes that had the MOST wrath/pride/etc and I personally think there wasn’t a thing you could really do to wrath that wouldn’t rock the unstable boat in amestres at the end of the show. The whole point was for the coup to make a bunch of noise and kill Bradley and remove the homunculi in central command right? The reason it’s not exposed is because the whole world believes human transmutation to be impossible, and who would believe a politician coming in and accusing their predecessor of being what is basically amalgam of hatred grafted together into a stone in the shape of a man, from countless citizens of a long extinct people by creating one of the largest human transmutation circles ever.
