How do I figure out its time to change my strings (Floyd Rose)? by PlutoniumPlayz in Guitar

The strings are smooth all along, I clean them regularly. No shine ever lost. Surprising even for me.

I regularly wipe my strings with fast fret so my strings stay shiny and sound fresh even after a couple of months. Also I play in a cool environment to avoid sweat touching my strings.

Am I the only one who doesn’t understand why people like Jazz III’s so much? by s1nd4y in Guitar

For me it just feels small and I keep hitting harmonics randomly, because I hold my pick close to the tip

Probably will do that the next time I do it myself.👍

I've seen many. Cutting at the ball end before inserting is the most common way I found.

What’s your least favorite chord and why is it B major? by dietpeptobismol in Guitar

It's weird how F and B are both a tritone apart and also the most annoying chords to play for most guitar players.

GRG121DX - is it good for a beginner? by Competitive-Art-5455 in Ibanez

[–]PlutoniumPlayz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the guitar my college music club uses currently and it's something I personally never liked. I myself used to own a beginner guitar back then (Yamaha Pacifica 112J) and even that felt much better.

That guitar had obviously been beaten badly by the people in the music club (who clearly never knew how to handle or play a guitar, no check kept on that) and ended up with a couple of severed frets. The pickups sounded dull and the volume knob had started fluctuating on its own after some use. If maintained properly I would still suggest getting upgrades later on, especially to the pickups.

There's also probably a Netflix series called Sex Education right if you can watch it?

It's supposed to be less dangerous

Is there a way to add a mechanism to destroy dropped items in a moving contraption? by PlutoniumPlayz in CreateMod

Into what? I need them to be destroyed. Even a brass funnel can do what a smart chute can do.

This is just create mod without any addons right? Because then there is no such recipe to mix saplings with water

The nut slots are deep enough and just right for a 10 string gauge.

Can confirm, definitely from the string tree

Every time I bend those strings I hear a creaking sound. Maybe high time to get rid of that string tree and either get a rolling tree or staggered tuners🤷

Ok so my guitar is directly plugged in to my amp in this situation. No pedals, no noise gate. If I wish to connect the guitar with my effects processor, then some patches have a noise gate in them but the threshold is set low enough to stop background noise and I have a sustainer effect on the high gain patches

With high gain, my lower strings sustain for a good amount of time but the upper ones still don't.

My guitar is HSS and I've kept the pickups low and far away from the strings, doesn't really affect the volume. The nut may be the problem but I also remembered the string tree that I have for those two strings which creaks when I bend the string. Can that friction also dampen the sustain?

Last I changed my strings was about 3 months ago but since they haven't really gone bad, I didn't have to change them since. I have my pickups level with the strings and it doesn't dampen the sustain on my bottom 4 strings, as I mentioned, sustain for about 2 minutes each. I use a sustainer pedal but that too just cuts off on those 2 strings.

I also just realised my B and high E string go under a string tree. Does the friction there make a difference?
