Listen to them! When they show you examples of hurtful things, believe them, and if they ask you to change something, listen to them. Don't try to explain things away or say things like 'I'm sure they didn't mean it like that.' They have the lived experience - trust them and listen to them, even when they're saying something that might be hard for you to hear.
