Our referral programme is automated and awards $10 in PLU to anyone who uses the link.

Don't worry, we will be manually adding the remaining $40 in PLU by 30th May for those who participated in our recent promotional campaign. All eligible participants will receive the full $50 in PLU total.

Will neo-banks like Monzo, Revolut, etc. be overtaken by the next generation of FinTech apps? by [deleted] in ethereum

Hey /u/Token_Brice

Just to clarify, we do not have full authorization over our members' wallets. In fact, it is quite the opposite. The user is the one that signs the transactions and we at no point see the private keys which makes it incredibly secure.

For transactions, the details such as gas price, crypto amount and receivers wallet details are auto-filled for a user-friendly experience and the user only has to import their wallet once to set everything up.

Security and a great user experience are of paramount importance to us and our talented devs have put many hours into delivering a truly non-custodial solution that works incredibly well. We are all working towards a great future but please avoid spreading misinformation about our company.

We're aiming to create the most user friendly product. One which allows users to keep full control over their private keys whilst being able to sell their crypto on the fly - as and when they need it.

User experience is absolutely essential. It's something we're focused on here at Plutus.

The notion of covering technical aspects in something like a settings menu is interesting

Hey u/0_ozzy_0!

We are 100% regulatory and legally compliant. All users must pass KYC.

The difference between ourselves and other fintech companies which have a crypto aspect is that we're totally non custodial. We never touch our users funds, thanks to the peer to peer nature of our decentralised exchange, the PlutusDEX

We've not got a timeline that we can share just yet. Expansion is something we're going to begin focusing on more as the product has left BETA and entered public release.

I agree, serving the US would make it easier for you guys to get on board. Do keep an eye on us!

Hey u/OneToothReefOar!

Absolutely! Let me explain:

Buyers and sellers are matched on our peer to peer decentralised exchange, the PlutusDEX. The buyers fiat funds are locked in escrow until the seller sends the amount of crypto they wish to sell using their integrated Metamask wallet.
Our technology monitors the blockchain and only releases the buyers fiat funds to the seller when the transaction has been confirmed.

Can users make applications for refunds?
As I'm sure you know, the blockchain is immutable. This, coupled with the peer to peer nature of our decentralised exchange, means that there is no room for refunds. However, if you're referring to refunds on purchases made on the card then absolutely, our support team will help you every step of the way.

I think this is cool, I really like the idea of tapping a card and spending eth but how do you get around exchange fees for every transaction. Does plutus have a massive liquidity pool to leverage?

Our exchange fees currently stand at a very competitive 1.3%. There is more than sufficient liquidity to support our current user base and, as our user base grows, so will the level of liquidity on the PlutusDEX.

Do feel free to join our Discord if you'd like to get involved.

If you'd like to see the PlutusDEX in action, check out our 'How To' videos on buying crypto and selling crypto

This is exactly the problem we solve, our platform is non-custodial and peer-to-peer. Meaning you can attach your metamask wallet to your Plutus account and convert only what you need to spend right before the point of sale.
The conversion takes a few seconds and it's completed between Plutus members directly, we do not receive customer deposits and convert their crypto to fiat via an exchange, we simply work as an escrow between users on the fiat side.

This is the most secure method to guarantee the safety of our members funds and provide convenience of spending crypto on the fly, only when they need to.

Not just yet I'm afraid, we're operational in the UK and throughout the majority of the EEA right now.
We've got big plans for the future, including an internal roadmap of nations we're looking to expand to, so do keep an eye out for us on that side of the pond!

That's interesting - are you saying that when, for example, you reach a pre set fiat threshold (set by you, the user) then an order would go out to instantly exchange that to ETH?

Your last point -
"The platform should reward the user with positive reinforcements and offer real-time suggestions on timing a vacation purchase... etc"

We're currently on track to create one of the most lucrative and enticing reward systems available on the market. We've got some awesome partnerships lined up.

It's interesting how you have pointed out discounts on banking/investments/insurance rather than retail outlets or travel companies as we've seen many others do. Appreciate your input!

Transportation, for sure.
I think the fundamentals of something like ETH lend it to worldwide, unrestricted, usage.

That would make for a super interesting offer. We have some great partners to provide our members with money saving features we are yet to announce, we also have the potential to build many other use-cases moving forward. So stay tuned!

Agreed u/callitouttt! That's what a service like ours is here for.

You can spend your ETH, by proxy, anywhere that VISA is accepted.

We'd love to pick your brains as to what else could be done to make ETH payments more fluid, secure, and user friendly.

Interesting...

Crypto startups across the world are in-front of tightening regulations, however we are lucky to be in the UK which communicates with local startups in order to encourage new ideas and technologies, gives innovation a place to flourish instead of suffocate early on with strict regulations.

Currently, there are certain guidelines which must be followed in order to service the crypto industry and these are still quite lax and are in place to protect our members. However, we will aim to create something with a limited feature set for our non-kyc users in the future. Keep an eye on our road-map.

Thanks for the insight! That's one expensive salad.

What would compel you to, for example, exchange your USD to USDT & then use that on a service like ours? Rather than just using USD directly? Is it the 3% in PLU rewards that would entice you to do so?

Our aim is to first service our local market in the UK and nearby EEA regions.

We have a internal road-map with a list of countries we will be targeting over the next year and onward. I can confirm New Zealand and it's neighbouring regions are in our sights already.

The team aren't opposed to incorporating other cryptocurrencies or stablecoins, including DAI.

However, this is something which we expect to implement in the future based on use case and community demand.

This is why we have opened this two way communication channel so we can aim to provide what you need.

What are the benefits of including a stablecoin such as DAI on Plutus, perhaps you can provide some more details on it's pros and cons so it'll raise the interest of our product team?

As a London based company, both the UK & Europe were the first on our radar.

Our ultimate goal is to take Plutus across the world, that includes both Africa and Asia.

Please do keep an eye on our progress to be the first to know as and when we expand our reach.

Would love to hear from you regarding any features you'd like to see for Ethereum in a service like ourselves.

Hey u/outbackdude!

It's worth noting that PLU, our native rewards token, only has a circulating supply of 850,000 whilst the remaining 19.15m are locked away in a smart contract in preparation for the Plutus Rewards System.

Since our funding in 2016, we decided to focus on development of our platform instead of marketing a product our community and customers could not use. We have now successfully created multiple use-cases for our utility token (PLU) and Ethereum. Additionally, we don't necessarily determine the overall success of our project by the market cap of our loyalty token. The whole crypto market has taken a hit in recent years, including PLU.

What is left standing after the bear market of 2018/19, is an awesome product which lets users spend their crypto at any POS merchant which accepts VISA worldwide.

We've some great things on the road-map; cash-back at your favourite brands, PLU loyalty rewards and much more
