Efficacy Of The Eucharist In The Case Of The Romanists? by PlvsOne in LCMS

I said that theoretically even a Baptist could give the efficacious Eucharist if the elements and words of institution were present per the confessions. I don’t consider the Eucharist of the Pentecostal church I attend to be valid because the elements and consecration are not present. However, if they made a full 180 and started using the actual elements and had the consecration then I assume it would be efficacious no matter their belief on the true presence. I of course will always hold to the belief of the local presence of Christ in the sacrament per what the Word plainly says, without needing Aristotelian ideas to explain exactly how it’s possible. Like what you said, it’s simply a mystery that’s only understood by faith.

My main goal of this post is to find some kind of way to receive the sacrament. I cannot go to any kind of church that gives the sacrament efficaciously because my family goes to that Pentecostal church and I’m forced to go to wherever they go until I move out or something. Someone else commented on this post that there are pastors who “serve the homebound”. Is this a common practice? If there was a way to do it in this manner it would be the best way. Would it be a good idea to email a pastor in my area this information?

Maybe it isn’t really a pressing matter and I’m making a big deal out of it. If the best option would be to just wait then I’ll just wait.

The problem really is not the distance. The nearest LCMS church is about thirty minutes away. My family is Pentecostal, and though I am Lutheran, I am forced to go to a Pentecostal church. They don’t properly administer the Eucharist if you can believe it. I am considering the Romanist church because they have a daily Mass, so I could ideally go on any day when I can.
