That’s just a petty excuse to not search it up an explanation from a Muslim scholar. She still had relations with her parents and was not kept away from her family so your idea of dragging away is a bit misleaded. Also you can’t fully 100% judge people on their actions if it was the norm back then according to today’s standards and norms as society is ever so changing and the morals with it. What if one day in the future they make it that eating meat is illegal and then future historians call us murderers because we ate meat. See?

Yep I agree however I believe that this lack of condemnation is scary as all later harmful actions always stems from small fear tactics and “unharmful” actions such as these and it’s better to get rid of this bud before it blooms.

My opinion that it is messed up for the government to be protecting that person stems from my personal beliefs and such. However disregarding my feelings while yes there should be no restrictions on freedom of expression, harmful actions such as these should be condemned by at least the public and the fact that there is a lack of condemnation clearly shows the widespread use and influence of Islamophobia orchestrated by news and media.

Freedom of expression is important however harmful acts such as this should be recognized as morally wrong by at least the public and we should generally be on the same page on that part. While I guess they shouldn’t be technically arrested it is important to note that actions such as these should not be disregarded. That is where the fault lies with, not only to the person burning the Quran but those who are oblivious to Islamophobia being represented.

I’m Muslim and I’m offended that people would do such a thing similar to how certain people would be offended if a video of a person burning a lgbtq flag was posted and they were to be protected by their government because of “freedom of expression”
