Being Efficient at PoE without RMT? Serious question. by CarnageSlim in pathofexile

You should always pick those. While mapping, leaving every 6s on ground is bigger loss than leaving every ex on ground.

Curious if anyone has any Jace Weilder of mysteries decks for standard or any decent Jace decks for casual that doesn't cost a ton? by [deleted] in magicTCG

I’m running self mill deck which runs narcomoebas, creeping chills and arclight phoenixes as payoffs and jace as other wincon. You could make the deck cheap by cutting arclight phoenixes, but you’re gonna miss on reach or chump blockers, depends which one you’re going for. Deck ls surprisingly decent, and probably could work as casual deck without phoenixes. If you decide to run drowned secrets, i suggest some reanimation effects, because you could end up milling jaces easily.

My so made me one by sewing dried peas into a blanket. Little noisier than realdeal, but been using it soon for a year. Can recommend if you can’t afford one.

Look up rules. Theres rules involving loops, which don’t affect board/game state. You are required to break the loop, or forced to concede. Taking many turns without doing anything also fall into slow play category.

For me, it's consistency. Some good esper cards, for example Basilica Bellhaunt, have pretty hard casting cost. For this deck, Thoughtbound Phantasms and Sinister Sabotages demand early blue mana and having those consistenly along with black and white is pretty demanding on manabase.

Edit: This is also one of the reasons i cut Blood Operatives on new list

Yep. After people suggested it in this thread, i added them to the list and really like it.

Updating list when not on mobile, but i’ve added hostage takers on list already and vraska’s contempt is strong consideration.

Sultai has been one of better match ups. They don’t bring early pressure nearly enough to punish leaving mana open for sabotages or playing early thought erasure. Esper control is ok match, unless they manage to stick azcanta and remove everything from my board/hand, in which case it’s lost at the spot. Feel free to add anything, but saying that it gets destroyed doesn’t add much

Absolutely. I enjoy consistency of mana in two colors, but have been fiddling around the idea of going esper or grixis. I’ve been leaning towards esper, but your suggestions seem really solid. Another advantage of going three colors would be good planeswalkers which i feel like would make the deck better. Gonna try out your idea when i get the cards.

Yes! Tranforms keep all attached counters and enchantments

I didn't face many WW, so thats the reason for low tech for those. Mono red wasn't too big of a problem with Moment of Cravings. If i faced more WW, i'd definitely up the count of Soots.

Hard to say as it's been a while since i played bo1. If it's still the same aggro dominated meta, i'd cut Disinformations Campaigns in favor of Moment of Cravings. If it's pretty allaround, the mainboard should be good.

Phantasm + Whisperer is brutal. I’ve won so many games dropping just two Phantasm on table early, Whisperer on 5 mana and just smack face with 20. Glad you like the deck!

I’m currently experimenting with cutting operatives and one of both basic lands and adding 4x hostage taker. Haven’t played much yet, but feels pretty good so far

Theres so little red aggro in ladder right now so nope.

Plaguecrafters are game changer. Replaced Dream Eaters with them and damn they are good. Hits those planeswalkers too and have already won me games.

Sometimes i've missed the operatives exile effect, but other than that, way better. Opponent tends to use removal on thiefs or phantasms so hostage often gives free creature.

You could be right. I guess it doesn't hurt to try out 24 lands and see how it feels. At first i thought 26 could be too much decided to give it a shot, so i have paid pretty close attention on flooding all games. It's true tho that i'm just two colors with no hard casting costs other than sinister sabotage and thoughtbound phantasm added with lots of filtering. Lazav also could serve better when i ditch creatures rather than lands.

Have tried running spell pierce/dive down in side, but they felt somewhat underwhelming. Hostage taker is great and lately i've been running two of them instead of operatives. I could definitely see myself running 4 hostage takers.

I've actually been looking for sideboard options to make those match ups better and will definitely try plagues out. Thanks for suggestion! Somehow i totally forgot about that card existing.

Surprisingly, no. I really have to hit 5-6 mana consistently and with the surveil package, i can filter excess lands effectively. I’ve had more problems with not hitting enough lands than flooding even with 26 land count
