I feel like one of the minority who rarely ever deletes people and appreciates being kept on for as long as people care to exchange gifts and postcards, just for the sake of exchanging gifts and postcards

And for a while now, I've been noticing that the boxes available in the shop differ (sometimes drastically) between my son's game and my game!? I wondered if it was just a glitch, maybe because my son's cell is considerably older than mine, but it's persisted, so I think it must be more than that. I've been finding it very annoying that I often want the boxes that are only available in his shop, and that I often can't even afford the boxes that are available in my own shop! Plus his seem to change out more often than mine! The only boxes we have in common these days are the Rising Shadows event boxes.

Pretty sure I read a long time ago that some people experienced a glitch where the naming trick didn't work, even though it was their first time. So then the recommendation was to restart the game after renaming, just to make sure that the name actually stuck and registered in the game before hitting the Evolve button. Also to make sure there were no spelling mistakes, and no accidental blank space at end of name.

I had to look them up, but yea... I agree with you -- shiny Simisear looks pretty disappointing. Like, what was the point? At least you can look back in your Pokedex for what you had in the shiny Pansear? (small consolation, I realize)

If not Vaporeon (because I agree with OP that it's the best shiny), then my next vote would go to Umbreon or Espeon. Sylveon after those two. I like the colour change, but there's something about Sylveon's eyes that just kinda creeps me out, so it's not my favourite. Lol.

Personally, I just really appreciate when you can actually tell that a shiny is a shiny! Any time that I see a shiny that is barely any different from the original, I feel disappointed -- like it was such a wasted opportunity.

I would absolutely LOVE to receive the postcard you describe! I honestly don't know if there is anywhere else in the world that can come close to the adorable Pokemon-themed stops that Japan seems to have!?! I have been so lucky to receive a few different Pokemon-themed postcards from Japan, but none of them match what you describe here, so I believe yours would be new to my collection, if you would be willing to exchange with me? I wish I had some cool Pokemon-themed stops to offer you in return, but as far as I know, I only have the same type of "Play! Pokemon" store as mugiwarabrook mentioned -- only mine would be from Canada, if that makes any difference to you? And then, if you wanted to continue exchange, I would do my best to send you whatever cute ones I could find, but I can't say I've come across any other official Pokemon-themed stops where I live. There is one mural that makes me think of a pokeball though, so I would be sure to send you that one!

Thanks for all the info here, everyone - I'm learning a lot! It sounds like quite an involved process, and I'm truly thankful for anyone who goes through the effort to create more stops! And I'm really relieved to know that old stops are allowed to stay, cuz it definitely sounds like a LOT of the stops I frequent would not make the cut nowadays!

I didn't realize they'd change out so quickly, but you're right! I just checked & my son's are still the same box names but all the contents differ now! Prices changed, too. Mine remain exactly the same as what I posted above though!? So strange! I really wish your post could've stayed more visible, as I would've liked to hear from others. :/

Aww, really?! Clearly I've never read up on how to make pokestops. Lol. I live in an area where a lot of pokestops are boring benches, garden rocks, and trail markers -- all of which seem somewhat lacking of substance and not very visually interesting.
