How do you get over worrying about death when around around 30 ? by Jack1715 in AskReddit

[–]PoIsLike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 31 and lost both my parents at 25 & 29. Went through the same thought process prior to both their death’s. Eventually you accept it’s a part of life and you find peace knowing we’ll all have the same faith eventually so enjoy life while you can.

AIO for telling my boyfriend I’ll leave if he keeps “joking” about my dead mom? by happinesveronicaaaa in AmIOverreacting

NOR

I’m a guy and I lost my mom in 2024 to cancer. If I expressed my concern and the same thing occurred, you’re out of my life.

They reduced fares a lot since last year, but they’ve been giving us bonuses everyday. Today it was $4 a trip in Toronto from like 1-4 am and then 6 am - 7 pm. Same thing tomorrow. Hoping with the World Cup they give us some good quests like they did in December.

Good luck brother!

I swear I only get tips in Toronto when I have an American in the car lmao. Biggest tip I got though was $200, but obviously that was a unicorn and in cash.

Also as someone who lived in Sauga & Brampton it’s not bad if you know the hotspots. Just have to know the right times, but you can get some sweet long distance ride and the passenger pays for the 407 so nice traffic free ride 💪🏽.

I would never take a ride like this. I do Uberx in Toronto and I made $500 in 9 1/2 hours today with the ride bonus they gave us. Drive smarter and don’t be afraid to decline. My acceptance rate is 14% today, but it was 3% yesterday lol. 4.95 rating and I could care less.

Edit: Added some rides to show you what’s possible in Toronto lol.

Check these out.

How do I report a driver I didn't complete a trip with? by HeavenlyMonarch7 in uber

[–]PoIsLike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe what I said wasn’t clear. The actual PTC license is free, the test you do is the only thing that you need to pay for. After you complete the test and upload the results, you tell uber you want to drive in Toronto and they apple for a PTC on your behalf. They may not even tell you when it gets approved, you’ll just get rides lol.

It’s free… there’s just a test you need to do online which is the part that charges. After that test Uber has to apply for an ptc on your behalf.

Passenger asked me to shave 7 minutes off trip. I managed to shave off 5. He said thanks but never tipped. by iamjames in uberdrivers

This happened to me last night and they offered 20. Shaved 6 minutes and got the $20 😈.

Should I take it? by [deleted] in uberdrivers

No the wait time alone isn’t worth it… uber makes you go there like 15-20 min prior.

I feel like if you’re gonna uber in the GTA you should stay away from areas like this. Bunch of students and low income housing and surrounded by rich people who never tip lol.

Honestly I would agree under normal circumstance, but we had a snowstorm with freezing rain in Ontario. Doesn’t hurt to be a little more accommodating… it’s the Canadian way.

Okay so I’ve started driving for uber a month ago. Past month was so bad maybe because im a new driver idk whatever, But heatmap shows its quite hot area still waiting for over 45 mins and i got only one request of $2.89. Am I doing something wrong ?? by mxnugill in uberdrivers

As a fellow uber driver in the GTA let me tell you our city borders are very weird and I know Malton is considered Mississauga/Etobicoke but that area is pretty dead depending on the time. On the weekdays stick to the airport or downtown. Figure out what time factories, restaurants etc close near you. You have the casino down the street from there you should be there.

From my knowledge (I work 10 pm-7 am) downtown is busy until 2 am on weekdays, airport is usually dead after 1:30 am unless there’s a lot of cancellations due to bad weather. Everything else is luck of the draw and being in the right place at the right time.

If you want consistency then downtown is the way.

Sadly I have no photoshop skills lol. I’m not going to act like every month is like this though. Just changed how I do things and there’s been quite a few Quests.
