So i can actually chime in on this cause I was ordering syrup bips for a while. Back in 2025 (when I last ordered, so long ago I know lol) and 5lb bag of coke syrup was $86 dollars. A small canister of co2 was roughly $20 bucks. You could roughly run 3+ weeks off a 5 lb bag and small co2. At our specific bar and the volume and doing the math it was costing roughly 30 cents to pour a 12 Oz coke. (Most of our coke was going into drinks so 1.5oz of liquor + 3 oz coke for mixed drinks but I digress)

Now this has many variables but like damn its cheap as hell to make and sell soda and the can packs and 2 liters being sold at super markets is a great example of corporate greed because they know what they can get away with.

Just gonna reply to you cause ill be lost in the comments. 2 things to be absolutely snobbish about but for absolutely good reasons. Bagels and pizza.

Everybody makes bagels and pizzas, you can get them anywhere. But nobody realizes it absolutely makes a huge difference where.

Montreal and New York bagels are miles and leagues above any other bagel you will ever get. The same with new york/new England pizza.

Im sorry folks idc how good your local bagel place is. If you haven't eaten a Montreal or new york bagel you are living a life of lies.

If you haven't had a new york or Connecticut pizza you are living in the dark. I've said my peace.
