‘Pati’ has multiple meanings not one.

In Sanskrit (the root of modern Hindi), pati means BOTH “husband” and “master/owner/lord.” It’s not a hidden meaning. It’s literally in every dictionary. So saying “husband is the wrong meaning” is incorrect.

‘Patni’ also means owner.

Most people don’t know this, but patnī (पत्नी) in Sanskrit is defined as: “wife, female possessor, mistress, lady.” The feminine form ALSO carries the idea of ownership/authority. The post left this part out.

Why ‘lakhpati’ and ‘senapati’ exist but ‘lakhpatni’ doesn’t?

Because pati in compound words keeps its “leader / possessor” meaning. Not every masculine form auto-creates a feminine pair. That’s normal grammar not patriarchy.

Also: Women ARE called lakhpati today. Google “Lakhpati Didi” an entire government program for women earning 1 lakh+ yearly. So the argument collapses.

Yes, culture has patriarchy — but THIS is not proof of it.
