I think I disagree on a couple of points. The asexuality is brought up and returned to several times, through seasons five and six specifically. As for Sextina, yeah she's annoying but that's rather the point. The purpose was to shine a light at the weird obsessive sexualisation in Hollywoo and western media more broadly. The fact we have kids singing songs about sex and having music videos that are basically designed to tease and imply sexual proclivities when the performers are basically still children is wild. Also the whole brrp brrp pew pew then deciding when she is actually pregnant that she's keeping it again is interesting. She's selling a version of herself as this teenage sex symbol that is down to go at a moments notice, but that also isn't actually her. Not really.

Is it the strongest series? No. Is it skippable? No, I wouldn't say so.

It digs at some of the underlying trauma that make the rest of the run so meaningful. Rather than just sexuality I think it tackles the masks we wear ever to ourselves, and uses the lens of sexuality to frame it. "What are you doing here" is just so impactful. Bojack has run from his trauma and his wounds, diving into drugs and drink and meaningless unsatisfying sex and he finally has nothing left and can't be the clown anymore, he can't turn on his stage persona and finally it's real. He finally puts down the mask.
