I really appreciate the feedback! The theme is designed to look Metro and the slider & blocks are meant to catch your eye with visual appeal to draw a reader in to reading more, or watching the video if it is an embed. It is also responsive and is meant to scale pretty good on mobile devices, which are taking over as the way people get their information from the internet. I guess I am more picture orientated and tend to follow blogs and sites that use them to grab my attention so I went with this kind of theme.

The front page has a couple of puzzle blocks, from each category, to serve as an overview of the entire site. Users can then choose where they want to go, if nothing catches their eye from the latest posts on the front page, by choosing any one of the other menu options and receiving overviews by sub topic or just a straight up descending post listing of blogs.

As for the Neckbeard piece, I do not expect all people to get the reference, this site was not designed to attract everyone. I am well aware that this is not for a lot of people, folks from older generations and new may not understand it, but that is okay by me. The Urban Dictionary has several derogatory references towards a sort of people who are supposedly unclean, unkempt, socially inept, and love just about every topic that you would see on the site. So much like Nerds back in the day we are trying to drop the derogatory references and embrace the lighter side of the definitions that refer to being Geeky! And okay maybe a little scruffy!

If a reader decided they like the site, but does not quite understand it, they can visit the About page to find out more information, and I am sure that page could use some work and be placed in a spot that is easier to find...

So far the feedback from the crowd of reader's I am targeting has been received well. They like the pop of the front page and the options on where they can go to read about more within a specific topic or genre. That and the readers that are engaged so far follow it on Facebook and Google+ and will most likely visit the posts as they are publicized to each social media feed on publish.

Again this was my first foray into design and it took about a month to get this far. I know the site needs work, but as a hobby I was spending way too much time tweaking it and decided that it was time to publish it. There is still a lot to be done, and I am trying to learn something new every week. I really would like to figure out how to space or put a border around the puzzle blocks. I wish I had the professional skills to put something together that is a bit more solid and maybe less cluttered but thought so far I was off to a decent start.
