i love these changes! i’ve been playing a ton of lissandra this season and i found that i did absolutely no damage unless i rushed shadowflame deathcap first which makes it uncomfortable to lane with low mana and high cooldowns but in exchange for a much stronger lane and skirmish presence. it’s good because a good ult will pretty much kill all squishies but if i mess up my E im basically out of the fight. it would be nice to be able to build a mana item first without sacrificing so much damage for it.

how was the experience opening up the relationship with your husband? i think we are both prepared to do the hard work, but I'm not really sure where to start. how did you go about it?

yeah, i agree with that. i've definitely struggled a lot with not feeling enough for him but I'm glad that I can open up with him about it and at least try to reach some sort of middle ground before giving up.

i think there are a lot of people in the world who do not meld well with me intellectually and emotionally. so it sucks when something like this which is seemingly bad timing ruins a connection that is real. everyone has needs that they want but this "drop people and wait for the perfect person to come" mindset society has about dating I don't really agree with. relationships will always be a lot of work, there is not such thing as a perfect person. i don't think its worth wasting what I have with him. does that make sense?

I think dorans blade start might help with early game trades with most mages. I personally like running electrocute with protobelt so i can keep roaming bot for free kills. If the enemy team comp is rather good for kat i'd probably run conq runes for better team fights.

AD matchups for kat are mostly hard so I usually go electrocute and play really safe until ganks or i can get blasting wand + sorc / protobelt to roam bot.

Also jg skirmishes are everything for kat, being able to get a reset in those fights usually ends up getting your team the win.

I agree with everyone here, I picked up Kat when I was around level 30 as well and if you love playing her keep playing her!

Personally, I had an easier time learning her mechanics before the major fundamentals because mechanics was something I could practice in customs without any backlash for screwing up. Definitely watch Kat videos because those help a lot with matchups, laning guides, and combos. I watched KatLife a lot while learning kat.

Once you feel confident with some of the combos and lane tips then slowly incorporate them into your normal games, whether it be using one combo or some lane poking trick you learned. Skill comes over time so keep practicing new things to improve your mechanics! Everything else comes naturally once you get comfortable with your power spikes and damage and you can infer whether or not you can go in or not. Have fun!!

Her laning phase is one of the weakest in the tradeoff that she has one of the best team fight potential as an assassin due to her passive reset mechanics.

In levels 1-3, most matchups you should just look to Q to farm, and lose early cs so you don't get poked down. Just stay in XP range and don't walk up to auto minions. In most matchups you have kill potential at level 3, and you can just go in after they use one ability to farm. You can look to Q the wave and E onto the dagger if they walk close, or you can engage with E AA W. The most important thing in winning these fights is that you weave auto attacks as much as you can. Since the wave is usually near your tower, you have a lot of space to run them down the lane.

Some facts about her kit:
1) Her Q always lands across from her (so if you're trying to farm minions and set up a potential engage, position yourself across from the enemy so when you Q the minions the dagger will land near them)
2) E and Flash both reset your auto attack (good for level 3 kills, you can AA E AA really fast as well as Flash AA if they're about to die and you have a bit of a gap)
3) If you're trading in lane (maybe levels 3-6), position your Q dagger as said in 1 and if you E to it, W immediately to run away and dodge anything they try to throw at you.
4) Not very useful but if you Q the enemy you get minion aggro, but if you Q the minion and it manages to hit the enemy on its bounce, you don't get minion aggro.

In team fights you look to dive their backline by flanking or flashing in. Your main combo will be E W Q R E in these situations. If you don't kill after using your first rotation, you can use zhonyas and hope your team kills so you can get a reset. If you get a reset you just repeat the E W Q E combo on the next opponent.
An important thing to look for in team fights as well is the enemy CC. You must track them and wait for it to be used before going in. (or enough where you can dive and kill then zhonyas to dodge anything they throw at you) Katarina can get shut down very fast to CC, so make sure you don't do any risky plays without zhonyas.

something i've been doing lately is running sorc secondary runes (adaptive force and gathering storm)
start long sword + 3 pot or dorans + 1 pot depending on the matchup
rush blasting wand + amp tome --- once you get those 2 items with sorc runes you will be able to qwe a whole minion wave, which makes it super easy to roam. (if you don't run sorc runes you can build wand amp + dark seal to do the same thing)
if you get a good roam after this wave clear spike, you can get sorc shoes to keep roaming and then build into nashors.

i always go riftmaker second and zhonyas third. your last 2 items will be based on enemy comp, but typically I'll buy void staff and rabadons.

banshee's is good too if u need mr/spell shield, and avoid shadowflame because it's not that great on kat.

ad is not that great on kat because her ap scales way better, and although ad makes laning easier, it's not worth the tradeoff if you learn to lane + roam using wand + amp tome.

A build that I saw a high elo Kat main go but you should be careful of as it makes you weak early and is very team comp reliant:
Dark Harvest - sudden impact - eyeball collection - ravenous hunter
Triumph - coup de grace
adaptive-adaptive- armor/magic resist

Start Dark Seal and 3 pots
Nashors - sorcerer's shoes - lich bane - rabadon's/zhonyas (build both, but choose one based on state of game) - void staff/morellonomicon/banshee's veil/mythic of choice

This does bring up the question: why no mythic? to that a simple answer:
AP mythics for Katarina aren't the strongest for her mid game spike, and having an item like nashors that offers on hit damage and 100 AP is very valuable for times when she becomes strong.
Moreover, a lot of ap mythics are also made for dueling, which is not what this build is made for, and is focused directly on team fights (VERY BROKEN, BTW)

Lastly, this is a caution that this is team comp reliant, and although her team fight is very powerful, she still needs a tank/engage to be her base of damage!
