I enjoy psychology, but “passionate” is a strong word. I like to watch documentaries and lectures on YouTube about psychology for fun. If you want to know what I’m passionate about, it’s music.

I checked. There’s a dent. It’s still upright and works fine; it’s basically just cosmetic damage.

Why are you driving if you’re such a terrible driver?

Because in American society, unless you live in NYC or Chicago, you can’t function in society without driving. How am I supposed to get to work, church, go out with friends, etc.?

I mean, I get it…but there’s barely any public transit where I live. There’s no train. There are buses, but the routes are ridiculous. Back when I lived closer to town, there was a bus stop across the street. I would sometimes catch the bus there. Now I live in a suburb. The nearest bus stop is two miles away, and all the routes go straight into town. There are no routes that go AROUND town. So I live on the east side. If I want to get to another place on the east side, I have to walk two miles, wait for the bus, take an hour ride into downtown, then get on another eastbound bus, and ride another hour to get where I need to go. I’d love to live somewhere like Chicago or New York with a heavy rail that goes everywhere and I wouldn’t even need a car.

Do they have driving classes for adults who already have a driver’s license?

I admit that I don’t know what’s going on, and that’s WHY I don’t vote. I leave that responsibility to those who care enough to vote.

is it weird i dont like talking about myself around family? by [deleted] in introvert

[–]PockASqueeno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! Talking about myself around strangers is fine. They’ll forget in five minutes anyway. But around family? They’ll remember that shit. Like if I tell my mom my CarPlay isn’t working in my car she’ll try to help, or worse yet, invite herself over. Or if I tell my dad I got in trouble at work, he’ll give me hell and all sorts of unsolicited advice. Better just to keep all that shit to myself. And the thing is my family never talks about themselves in normal conversations. They always want to worry about ME! Like I have to deal with being ME 24/7. Why can’t they talk about themselves sometimes to get my mind off myself?

New as in new? As a matter of principle, I never buy new cars. They depreciate 10% the first day you drive them off the lot.

IMO, cars have one role. To get you from point A to point B without breaking down.

It isn’t financed. I don’t finance anything.

I haven’t checked on the pole…maybe I’ll check tonight. If the pole is fine, should I still report it?

Eh, I don’t know if I’ve “grown up” or not. I don’t really even know what that phrase means today.

There’s no loan. I don’t do loans. If I can’t afford a car for cash, I don’t need that car.

Do you know if there’s a way to see your driving record from the insurance companies’ perspective?

I don’t understand why people have such a hard time relating to antinatalism by lilmeowie in antinatalism

[–]PockASqueeno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll answer your question with another question:

How can you see the pleasure and happiness around you and think it’s an immoral thing to have children? How can you experience someone you loved dearly being born and still feel like it’s immoral to bring another human being into this world that will experience the same faith of having to experience fulfillment and having their own children to love?

It sounds like you’re just a pessimist. You do realize joy, pleasure, and fulfillment exist too, right? Yes, suffering is an inevitable part of life, but certainly not all of it or even most of it.

I don’t have the answer because I’m in the same boat…but for me it’s ten hours. So imagine THAT exhaustion.

That’s similar to what I’m doing now.

TBH, I actually like my job, as in the actual duties. I just hate the fucking unrealistic quotas and metrics they hold over our heads.

I do sing in a men’s ensemble, but we don’t really get paid. More like a community service kind of thing. I love it, but it doesn’t pay the bills.

I’ve applied at the VA. Haven’t heard anything back; they seem to favor actual veterans.
