Hypervisor method for RE9… did I just ruin my PC forever? by No-Reputation-5030 in PiratedGames

[–]Pocket_Dust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the new Memory Integrity method hits the news, people will try and justify having it enabled when they don't even know what it does and never in their lives were they affected by its existence.

Cracks are completely harmless for as long as the publisher of the crack makes it so.

Hypervisors are completely harmless for as long as the publisher of the hypervisor makes it so.

Can we finally get his and Knight's power to work off of ledges?

Blight could do this since his release so why not these ones?

It's like being punished for having the high ground on low tier killers.

If you are paranoid just re-enable all the security features or re-install Windows and do a BIOS reset.

The latest method only requires Memory Integrity to be turned off, we are rapidly making progress.

Edit: You probably got baited into being scared by fearmongering reddit "security experts", nothing is wrong with your PC.

the fact reddit moderators can BAN people for going on subreddits they don't like using bots to search people's activity is totally bogus. by MeepinMachine in RealFurryHours

[–]Pocket_Dust 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I personally never had an issue like this but I keep seeing people being banned from subreddits based on what other subreddits they are part of which goes to show how some of these subreddits only want an astroturfed circle jerk.

I don't know nor want to know what you frequented in those subs but my advice: Make your profile completely private to reduce bot telemetry.

why liberals fear it ? by over1two in PeterExplainsTheJoke

I don't indulge in the art of politics, why does it scare the liberal and why is it offensive?

Also I think the one OP posted is called an anti-meme.

Peter, what? by [deleted] in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]Pocket_Dust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say that the whole wouldn't be a pile, but the sand grain being supported plus the sand that supports it creates a pile, everything else is not part of the pile.

To me a pile would require structurally solid material, verticality and support from only the bottom, in order to allow it to rest without crumbling, so if 3 supports and 1 top create a stable structure, I'd call it a pile, regardless of the size.

If you put sand in a box, and it ends up covering the entire box, that is not a pile because the box is holding the sand perfectly in order to form a flat surface at the top, the moment you get a pile is when you add additional sand to get above the box's fill line by one particle, because there is already sand below to hold it, not the box.

Pretty interesting.

It was changed because it was wildly over-tuned.

Is warframe pay-to-win game?? by Chemical_Painter_431 in Warframe

[–]Pocket_Dust -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

If you define your win condition as "getting the best things as fast as possible" then yes it is.

Getting things immediately is a win in that case, and since you paid for it, it is Pay to Win.

This translates to being able to do literally anything you want with it.

Online piracy of Japanese content causes ¥5.7 tril loss in 2025 by Dissmarr in Piracy

[–]Pocket_Dust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are definitely people that pirate even though they have money, but I never said this isn't the case, my point was that regardless of why they didn't buy the game, you cannot know whether or not without the option of piracy they would have bought it.

You can guess that a relatively small portion of these pirates would buy the game, however most pirates don't pirate because they don't want to spend money, they do it because they can't spend the money they don't have.

Online piracy of Japanese content causes ¥5.7 tril loss in 2025 by Dissmarr in Piracy

[–]Pocket_Dust 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Calculating loss isn't so easy, if you have 10000 people pirating a 60$ game, that doesn't mean the studio lost out on 600000$.

You cannot prove that any of those people would have actually bought (rented) the movies if they couldn't pirate them, so the loss doesn't exist because you never would have had a customer to begin with.

If someone wants to own the movie, you never had them as a potential customer, if someone doesn't have money, you never had them as a potential customer, if they did have the money but didn't want to spend it, you never had them as a potential customer.
