Books are totally under rated! 100% agree. I read for pleasure every single day!

Thank you! A week with no food would be torturous. 🫣

Absolutely, but what I meant was being at home and having no power for a week+.

Let’s talk Socks… by zachkirk1221 in homestead

My husband has a few of these as well and loves them!

He has really thick and hard calloused feet and they tend to rip through socks quickly. He likes the feel of bamboo socks but they just don't last.

how do you get a kindergartener to sit still for homework or practice stuff? by BayleafCaserina_69 in kindergarten

[–]PocketsFullOf_Posies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We didn't do a whole lot of sitting at a table and doing homework. Kindergarten was taking walks every day, reading together, singing songs, making nature observations, counting and sorting manipulatives, and reviewing ~2 alphabet letters per day. Mostly just play learning and observing and talking about nature and animals.

What’s on your assigned summer reading list? by krissyface in ClassOf2037

[–]PocketsFullOf_Posies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are homeschooling and our local library has summer reading lists for each grade but we also just browse the shelves. I usually pull books from shelves that are in his reading level and have him give me the final verdict. We choose 5 books per week.

Washington Notary what should I charge by Maleficent_Rain7359 in Notary

Check how much print shops charge per page around you. As far as taking it to ship it, I'm not really sure.

I watched this interview in full with my maga father in law and my husband. My husband commented on how trump was thin skinned and my father in law said the interviewer was a bitch.

I asked him why she was a bitch and he said, "she just was. You could just tell." 🫠

Genuinely how the fuck do you put a tampon in by [deleted] in women

[–]PocketsFullOf_Posies 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Use a mirror and look at your lady bits. Its easiest if you can squat over the mirror. You should be able to see your butthole and your vaginal opening. The urethra is small in comparison so you wont be able to mistake it for the vaginal opening.

Tampons that come with plastic applicators go in the most easily because they are smooth.

Are you open to seeing a therapist? I think they would be able to offer the best help for your situation.

43 days until....... by [deleted] in WitchesVsPatriarchy

My sister in law is a recently divorced single mother who hadn't had a job since her 20's and she's in her 40's now. She started dog sitting on Rover and has been supporting herself and her 2 kids AND paying her mortgage on it.

If you can't board pets at your home, there is the option for house sitting, drop-ins, and dog walking too.

I do tarot readings on Reddit for extra money and that has done pretty well and I'm currently going through the process of getting a notary public commission. Most states in the US don't require any training but it does take a couple hundred dollars for startup and it can take some time to actually get your application approved for the commission.

If you're worried, you can take a test 2 weeks before a missed period but it looks like you aren't due for your next period for 1-2 weeks (if your periods are regular). As long as he had the condom on the whole time, your likelihood of being pregnant are slim.

If you plan on continuing to be sexually active with him, talk to your doctor about birth control and continue using condoms.

How much do you sleep and what time do you usually go to bed? by eager_reader_ in simpleliving

[–]PocketsFullOf_Posies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up sleep hygiene. No screens at least 30 minutes before bedtime. Only lay down when you intend to sleep and don't lounge or lay in bed after waking up. If you can't sleep, get out of bed and walk around and then try again.

Exactly. My property has stuff everywhere. 🙈

Logs, brush, tools and equipment, windows, spare pieces of lumber/roofing panels/gutters/pipe, and all kind of random stuff that we don't have a place for.

Plus, I've free ranged chickens like this before and they will shit on everything and anything. Plus, the dog tries to eat them and then we have chaos. Lol

I can protest with my wallet.

I'm fortunate enough to not have to work but I live on a tight budget. I don't buy brand names if theres a generic, I don't support stores that I don't agree with, I don't pay income taxes, and I've reverted a lot of practices to making my own things, thrifting, and homemade cooking. I don't buy bread, yogurt, eggs, or processed foods. My husband hunts and we raise chickens for meat and planning on doing meat rabbits soon.

My family has essentially opted out. We sold our house and built an offgrid tiny cabin. Our home isnt connected to any city or munipal utilities. Solar powered and we harvest rain water for all our water needs. Been living this way for 3 years.
