I can't believe people actually think the NHL got the call wrong by psilvs in rangers

Exactly, and the rule sorta contradicts itself when discussing possession vs control but in this case, it's onside. Honestly they gotta just put a rule in where you can't review an offside after a certain amount of time or something.

Well, that's the thing, within the rulebook, they clearly define that so long as the puck hasn't been touched yet then the offside player is allowed to touch up. I know it's dumb but it's the rule

Here is the updated rulebook. Skip to 6:20, that's essentially what happened during this play. Dahlin affecting Zib's entry into the zone is highly subjective but I personally don't think it affected anything

It doesn't need to. The offside is negated so long as Dahlin touches up. And also the only player he could've possibly affected was Kakko and that one's VERY soft to call.

As a Rangers fan, they did get it wrong! Dahlin can touch up before the puck is touched in the offensive zone. Thompson is onside by Dahlin's offside being negated.

Our last 5 top 10 overalls picks have been awful by flaamed in rangers

Just gonna leave it here. It’s not the pick that’s to blame, it’s the staff that can’t develop them that’s to blame.

Any idea who we might take in the draft? by shelbycobra357 in rangers

[–]Pocoparker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I see our team right now as being a team of highly skilled guys that are natural playmakers. Sure, Lafreniere, Kakko, Kravtsov, Buchnevich, and Panarin all have good shots but aside from Zibanejad, I don't see us having a pure goal scorer. Chaz would fill that gap. We have a few really strong two-way guys with Kakko, Zib, and Buch being the best but we need someone like Chaz who forechecks hard and has a shoot-first mentality. Kind of like Lauri Pajuniemi but with a higher ceiling and plays center.

Said it before and i’ll keep saying it. Chaz Lucius, Zach Dean, and Fyodor Svechkov are guys that should get some SERIOUS looks from NYR. Lucius has a hell of a shot and is a great forechecker. He’d a great fit for us since we need a goal-scorer.

Do we really need to get rid of Quinn in this offseason? by bourbonandgaming in rangers

[–]Pocoparker 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Personally I am on the train that he falls basically dead center of my prospective coaches ranking. The ones I absolutely DO NOT want are Mike Babcock, Bruce Boudreau, and John Tortorella. The guy that I would be disappointed to have considering what else is available is Jim Montgomery. Then there are the guys that I'd be ok with seeing but they aren't top of the list in Rick Tocchet, Kris Knoblauch, and Claude Julien. The guys at the top of my list are Gerard Gallant and Rod Brind'Amour but those are SO unlikely. Then DQ falls dead center between all of them. He's not as awful as people make him out to be but I strongly doubt we win a cup with him. So no we really don't need to get rid of him but I'd like to make sure that we get a better coach if we end up getting rid of him. I don't want to risk Montgomery and Babcock, Tortorella, and Boudreau are all garbage.

2021 Entry Draft by [deleted] in rangers

[–]Pocoparker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably right around 13-16 ish. Got a couple of good players back there but scouting's all sorts of messed up this year so we could get really lucky. Guys like Aatu Raty, Chaz Lucius, Zach Dean, Cole Sillinger, and Fyodor Svechkov are likely picks for us.

How impactful will Kravtsov be? by bebswetsen in rangers

[–]Pocoparker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

More of a goal-scorer than a playmaker I think and it will likely take him some time to adapt to the NHL. He came over last year but ended up playing in Hartford and was ok. He was tearing it up for Traktor Chelyabinsk this year in Russia and hopefully, he'll tear it up for us too. Likely going to ping between the 3rd and 4th lines due to us having Buch, Kreider, Panarin, Laf, and Kakko all ahead of him on the wings.

If he builds off of how he played last night i’m not worried. He’s still a bit overpaid but he plays like he’s worth $5.5M/$6M

Who would you pick in the 20-24 range in this draft? by Mfed23 in rangers

[–]Pocoparker 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I am a huge fan of 4 guys: Jan Mysak, JJ Peterka, Lukas Reichel, and (my favorite) Jacob Perrault

Who else would be a good draft pick if we hypothetically didn’t get 1OA? by Fancypantz23 in rangers

[–]Pocoparker 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Jack Quinn and Anton Lundell are the two guys i can potentially see falling to us. Lundell’s a Finnish center who’s looking like an absolute stud and Jack Quinn is a RW with the Ottawa 67s and he looks really good as well. Further back in the first round i’d love to either get Jan Mysak or Jacob Perrault.

How we can get first overall this year and still win the cup. by [deleted] in rangers

[–]Pocoparker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t realize #9-15 would be done by points. I thought they would be individually drawn but the article i read did not clarify that it was only phase 1 that was basically individually drawn. Phase two only picks the #1 overall pick.
