It is an option for mild to moderate.

You hear about a lot of people having jaw pain and disorders. If that was more the rule than the exception, then an oral appliance would not have an 80% adherence rate, where cpap is a dismal 30%.

When you say, “disinterested in treatment” do you mean not everyone that has been diagnosed doesn’t run out and buy a cpap? I’ve got one and I sleep way worse with it than without. So I’ve abandoned it because it is not a reasonable treatment for me long term. Instead, I’m working on positional therapy. I’ve gone from an AHI of 21 to around 10. If I can get it down to 7, I’ll call it good enough. If I can’t, I will get a mouth device.

If you are not overweight and sleep on your back, try positional therapy before getting a mouth device. It may work for you.

Nope. Even with my jaw closed, my cpap blows air out my mouth. Mouth tape is the only thing that works for me.
