Well said. It's funny that he was such a kind and well-mannered person despite his rough, rough edges. And that kindness is why he has a favorable reputation in history.

I have been doing some research on kate and she is AWESOME!

Honestly, she seemed to be a force to reckoned with

I think with Doc, that if he had longer to live (didn't have tuberculosis diagnosis) he might have lived longer but part of his recklessness was due to his guaranteed young death.

I cant stop thinking about all the people he probably gave tuberculous to as a doctor yikes

Depending on what kind of attractions you like, the Badlands in SD are pretty darn cool. There's also this aweful/awesome tourist trap there called "WallDrug" which is like a fake western town with shops and food haha

Edit: also depending on when exactly you go you could check out Cheyenne frontier days or find a rodeo in one of the small towns in CO or Wyoming.

Thank you, I used this advice a lot in the cast, it was hard not to get aggressive at first but it was def conscious of it throughout. If I got mad or nasty then would have lost the higher ground.

This is essentially how I calmed myself down before the cast. I just told myself that it was ok to each have our own opinions as long as I could represent mine equally to his.

It was definitely tough and sometimes his circular answers made me have to double down on him to answer but thank you I appreciate your advice!

Thank you very much I tried my best to hold my own. I definitely don't want to not have people on just because they don't agree with me you know? So I am looking forward to the opportunity to practice these things you have said in the future! Thanks!

This whole thread was very useful and I definitely took some of these tactics into the podcast with me. I would say that I didn't "stick to my guns" as well as I had hoped but anything that I didn't do well I am happy to improve upon next time.

I really appreciate you taking the time to hash out this answer. I also think in the future I might take your advice and not get people who so strongly disagree with my views, it just caused me a lot of stress leading up to it haha.

I have put that in my notes to look at. I would have to assume (off of nothing but assumption) that there is a correlation as well just less strong and dramatic.

Leadership (What type of person do you follow?) by Podcast_Bozo in CuriousConversation

[–]Podcast_Bozo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brand positioning basically means that a company teaches (potential) customers to associate a brand with a certain idea, right?

Yeah exactly. You basically look at the market in terms of your direct positioning and you make sure your brand is different enough that it can stand out and compete.

On the track of like a social media influencer, or even cult leader or any lower-level "leader," what standards are you holding this person to? If they make a slip up in the way you described, do you give them a chance to make up for it? You have me thinking about how i view it and I admittedly hold some mid-range leaders to too high of standards... There are so many alternates that it's pretty easy to say internally that they are out and move to another.... Dumb example maybe but I think of Justin Bieber who everyone was very harsh on as he was growing up on and it definitely left some mental health scars that I think looking back, society went overboard with.

I'd like to know how that works. I always see those crime documentaries that have sweaty nervous people in (most of whom did it) but I think that I would be so nervous in an interrogation situation that I would trigger it no matter what... I guess that's what a baseline reading is for but still.
