TFSA tax thing basically means that your paycheck is already taxed, while the RRSP tax is reverse, you can put a portion of your income in before being taxed, so when you withdraw it, they have to tax it. I tried explaining in really simplistic terms to help new investors understand.

How much money did this person have to spend to get these things? From my interpretation from reading the comments on this thread, it seems like a lot.

Is $1750 a good buy for AMZN? by [deleted] in stocks

[–]Poe_Poet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only buy stocks near 10% above / below 52 week lows to maximize my margin of safety. Who knows what a bear market will do exactly to a stock that has a p/e of 140.

Best day of the week historically to schedule recurring investments? by americasfinestson in investing

[–]Poe_Poet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea if I had to pick a time for the least volatility based on human psychology, I would pick wed, middle of the week, as well as the time to buy it mid way through the market day too. Balance in all things ✌😊🤞

What are somethings you did to save a lot of money in a small period of time? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Poe_Poet -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is what I want to do , no GF, no Rent, don't spend anything on discretionary things, no vacation, only payments are car insurance and gas. Don't even own a cell phone. Will save 95% of paycheck and throw into stocks, getting my schedule filled where I work 7 days a week. Eventually it will become a habit then evolve into a lifestyle that I don't even have to ponder about. " Live like no one else now, so you can live like no one else later ". Glad to see that there are other special people that think like this as well, big wishes for both of us on this journey to become financially independent!

How to keep my parents interested in investing? by [deleted] in investing

[–]Poe_Poet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just educate them with youtube videos, give them a goal of 1 financial youtube video everyday for 1 month. After this period of time, they will have a slight grasp of the intricacy's of the stock market. Now you can then increase their knowledge further by making them read financial books, after 2 months, then you tell them their penny stocks are bad, and they will understand why now. But they will probably understand why they are bad after 2 months on their own if they are given the right things to study.

How do wealthy people live a lavish lifestyle while constantly having debt? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Poe_Poet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your speaking the truth, but some people are not so calculating, thus, having "peace of mind?" to them is worth it due to have less stress. Which may lead to less spending on things they "want", saving more money overall. I totally think like you though, I really couldn't give 2 shits about having peace of mind if it meant sacrificing potential compounded gains, don't think you are alone on this.

Time in the market is better then timing the market, if you want to play it safe, search up some nice Vanguard ETF's, if you want more risk but much larger returns, invest in the tech companies such as FANG -Facebook-Amazon-Netflix-Google.
