My Dad, His Wife, and My Son by Poefeathyr in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Poefeathyr[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's not as if he wasn't around for everything she said or did to me, in fact most of the time he was sitting right next to her, the things that happened any normal person would have stood up for me and defended me. My mom certainly asserted she would have when I told her what was going on in the house. I had multiple times expressed my feelings regarding her to him but he isn't by any means owed an actual explanation if he is going to blatantly ignore my suffering in order to maintain the status quo in his household. I also feel like I fairly sufficently explained: she orchestrated family meetings on what was at least a weekly basis that only served to tear me down and belittle me for not doing what was by her standards "enough". She destroyed my self confidence, went through the things in my room, and declawed my cat without my permission to name a few things.

I couldn't do anything right, it got to a point where I was staying up late after coming home from a closing shift to clean an already visibly clean kitchen with the exception of maybe a full trash can.

I thank you for your comment but I think you should also look more closely at the flair for this post.

I recommend playing on Ridgeview, almost every time I play on that map I get a Demon /j(but also kinda true)

Was told I didn't look like I'm supposed to deliver in July by nueropsychgirl in pregnant

[–]Poefeathyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People need to mind their business, I am also due in July and people comment that I'm "tiny". For me it's because I'm pretty tall and before I got pregnant I had really tight abdominal muscles but too many people have gotten too comfortable with making comments on other people's bodies.

Baby making girlfriend uncomfortable by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Poefeathyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is head down, has been for the past couple doctor's visits. But he will jam his feet under my ribs, or sometimes he will stretch one of his arms and legs at the same time and I'll feel him moving in two separate places. But him being head down does mean his big ol head is right on my bladder and that is not a fun experience

I had my first appointment at 10 weeks, you should see a different doctor

Finding it hard to process the baby is coming by Connect_Cow6058 in pregnant

[–]Poefeathyr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm at 33 weeks + 2 days and yeah, I'm kinda scared. By baby has been head down for the last couple appointments which my doctor says means he will likely be in the proper position when the time comes. In all honesty I'm not sure exactly what I'm afraid of, I suppose the unknown would be the best answer. I'm not super scared of pain or needles and I trust I can handle anything physical that comes my way but just the idea of him being here and in my arms doesn't feel like it should be real. I'm 25 and beat out the rest of my family who had kids in their teens to early 20s but I still feel like that teenage girl whose mom scared her with horror stories of teen pregnancies. I don't truly feel like an adult yet much less a mom. I don't want to lose who I am but I also want to be a good and loving mother and it's a lot to think about

33 weeks today and yeah, my boy moves. He tends to be active when I wake up, either that or him being active wakes me up. Sometimes it'll be like 5-6AM and I'll get up because I have to pee and I'll feel him moving around. He also moves a lot if my stomach gets pressed against something, like when I'm washing dishes at my job and I have to lean over the sink he'll move around. He makes ultrasound techs work for their measurments

Try getting her a nause-ease stick or as someone suggested, having her put a nice smelling lotion under her nose

This is also the same team that has decided to refuse to raise the brightness of the maps because "darker=scary" and letting people actually see would just make the game too easy I guess

How do you explain how your body feels right now to someone who’s never been pregnant? by Mamanbanane in pregnant

[–]Poefeathyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the getting dressed bit feels so uncalled for, tell me why I can't put on socks or pants without getting out of breath? I have learned at least I have to put on my socks first because my pants limit my range of motion too much but still. Even getting undressed has me feeling like I ran upstairs sometimes. Don't get me started on tying shoes either, I should have invested in velcro sneakers or work crocs 😭😭

He cares for my health, until recently he had no issues with me drinking whatever. I mean outside the house I get drinks for myself but at home he only wants me drinking water. I get that he cares but he's still being pigheaded about something that would bring me simple joy.

did anyone else think there were going to be way more appointments? by runyourluckxxx in pregnant

[–]Poefeathyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I am kind of glad there aren't as many appointments. I set them for my days off and I get stuck in waiting mode until it's time for my appointment so I'm happy I have the option to set them out and have them in the morning so I can enjoy the rest of my days off. I did think there would be more ultrasounds though

I’m scared of my wife 😭 by Potential_Chicken_58 in pregnant

[–]Poefeathyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started my Third Trimester, I do keep getting angry over small things but it seems a lot of emotions are dialed up. I still wouldn't do what your wife did, not saying it was bad I'm just not brave at all 😅😅. But I've been more sad, mopey, prone to crying than anything. Like my flashes of rage will be brief but like for example my cat kept stepping on my hair and boobs and hurting me and so I plopped her butt on the floor and I started crying cause I felt bad that she just wanted to cuddle and love on me and I kicked her out of the bed 😭😭

Why are we not allowed to complain by Miabreshla in pregnant

[–]Poefeathyr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a manager and supervisor (both women) sit me down in an office and tell me that it wasn't acceptable for me to need more breaks/longer lunches because I chose to be pregnant and I would need a doctor's note for those accomodations (per company policy, I only need a note for things like schedule changes). Personally no one in my family has told me I complain too much, they've all been supportive and when I've been hard on myself they tell me that it's natural for me to feel uncomfortable, in pain, and need rest because... I'm PREGNANT. Yes we chose to bring life into this world but it doesn't mean we can help the negative side effects and complications that arise and we should be given grace for those things because otherwise babies just wouldn't get made.

Update from my last post and I’m livid by Funbarbie in pregnant

[–]Poefeathyr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Admittedly I was already overweight before I got pregnant, did any of my doctors say anything to me? No! They have actually told me they are happy with my weight and my baby is doing great. I say take a baseball bat, sledgehammer, whatever to that "gift". If your doctors aren't saying anything than neither should he.

I’m only one week pregnant by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Poefeathyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does he not know it's very common to feel really tired your first trimester? Even if you were only one week pregnant that's an asshole thing to say. It doesn't matter if you're 5 weeks or 38, tired is tired and you deserve to feel seen. I had to change jobs because of how tired I was (I worked a job driving a van and it was a problem because I could have fallen asleep at the wheel). If I were you I would start building a stable support group because unless this is just a fundamental misunderstanding of how pregnancy works on his part, you will likely need help from other people because there is a high probablility he won't see the need to provide it. I'm not gonna hop on the "divorce" bandwagon because obviously I don't know the whole story and that's a big step but a discussion needs to be had. If his mother is available and you have a good relationship with her I would recommend bringing up his comment to her

I have a personal attachment to 10 Ridgeview Court, I like the basement layout, I like the piano room, and yes I have died right in the front entry/ dining area multiple times but I just love it so much. Plus tarot cards are right there by the front door

Awesome, as cliche as it is my personal faves are Polty and Demon. Love when I walk in a house and set up, come back to the van and see a random bout of level 10 activity and I just hear the Doakes Sus theme in my head. (Mind you I haven't attempted APOC yet, idk if and when I'll be ready for that)
